Android Auto on 2018 ILX

Hi, I was just wondering, as the 2019 ILX has Android Auto on it, and the infotainment system hardware I assume to be basically the same, seeing that they haven't really changed anything other than aesthetics. Would there be a way to have Acura simply upgrade the software on my current 2018 ILX to have the new infotainment software with Android Auto? Thanks!

The infotainment is not the same. It's a major upgrade. The MMC TLX also got the same infotainment upgrade. I just drove a TLX loaner recently and the infotainment is faster. Most notably, the touchscreen area is completely redesigned.

AA (and CarPlay) has nothing to do with the audio quality. It is simply a user interface to run apps on your car's built-in screen.

Well I tried playing the 5.1 files thru my phone and was sorely disappointed. Did not appear to be multi channel. Did this with flac files, when I have time I will test other formats.
