Dashboard Dots

Just to the left of the fuel gauge, there is a series of tiny dots along the guage. It starts about at 3/4 of a tank, and goes down from there. It does not seem to be related to the fuel level at all, and I can’t find anything about them in the manual.

Anyone know? Any reasonable theories?

Since they're under what looks to me to be a lower case 'i' in a circle they might be a visual indicator of how many 'information' messages are in the queue to be viewed. Just a SWAG....

Indicate what screen is showing in the MIDI. Top dot is the trip computer and they go down from there. I get in the car and click 5 dots down to the SHAWD screen.

I have been pondering this myself. My guess was oil life. I couldn't find any reference in the owner's manual, so I was glad to search here and find the answer.

Many thanks!

Holy crap. I was pulling my hair out trying to find that one in the manual. I have navigated through the MID and didn't take notice of that dot moving, dang.
Thanks for the help.

FYI- if you get the gauge cluster replaced under the TSB, the screen will stay on the last screen where you last left it when you restart the car.
