Contact Alarm for Security?

Hi, I’m wondering if there’s a way to set my car so that if someone pulls the drivers side door handle and the fob is NOT present, the alarm will go off. For example, in the middle of the night some kids will go through my neighborhood and just pull on car door handles to see if anyone left their cars unlocked so they can steal stuff...Is there a way to set my car so that the alarm will sound when they pull my driver’s side door? Like a contact sensor?

If not, does anyone have suggestions for me?
Obviously I lock my car every time but it’d be nice to scare the bad guys away.

There is no setting for that. Place your car in a garage if you have one.

Thats a shame...I feel like at this point there should be something like that or at least an add on.

I don’t have a garage or it would definitely be in there...obviously?

Do you have the option of placing a camera to overlook your car and record?

I’m sure the door handle has some physical switch, you can always do an aftermarket alarm and use that as a trigger wire also

If pulling on the door handle turns on the internal lighting, then an aftermarket alarm that senses current drain will work well.

I have the ring video doorbell. I receive an alert on my iphone anytime there's movement in my front yard and driveway. You can set the phone for banner and/or audio alert if it detects movement. That would work while you're home.

Wire in a tilt sensor to your car

https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...-alarm-855658/ obviously, you'll have to get it to work with your specific model but here's a DIY you can loosely follow.
