Black Infotainment screen
Black Infotainment screen
This morning a got a black infotainment screen...no audio, no NAV, nothing, except front and rear cameras seem to be working. Ugh. Three stops on my errands, still black. After my fourth stop it boots up normally and looks fine.
This is really the first "oh no" moment in 22,000 miles...I shouldn't complain.

If I get the blank screen or popping/crackling (which I didn't have, just NO audio at all) again, I will tell the dealer about this.
Start Rant:
Why is it that we ALWAYS have to tell the Acura dealer about these things? ONE of many reasons I bought the RDX was for the supposed "upscale" dealer experience. My experience with this dealer so far has been below my expectations, and below the experiences I had at our local Ford/Lincoln dealer for the last five years with our (now departed) 15 Escape. I suspect it may have to due with the numbers of cars sold/serviced. Obviously the Ford/Lincoln dealer sells and services way more than the lone Acura dealer, but I truly always felt welcomed and appreciated at the Ford dealer, yet just an inconvenience in their day at Acura. And, it is the only Acura dealer within 100 miles.
If I had liked the Lexus RX, I would have bought that because the dealer experience is far better at Lexus than what I have experienced at Acura, so far. My shopping and sales experience was so/so at Acura, but at Lexus, I felt very welcomed when shopping.
But really this is my only real gripe with my RDX, and I really enjoy driving it, so isn't that the real reason we buy cars after all??
END Rant. (And, It wasn't directed at you, russian Dude)
I too have been significantly unhappy with the dealership I bought the car from, and It is a well-known family owned multiple dealership.
However, I have been very pleased with the dealer I use when in Florida, Naples Acura. They treated me well even though I did not buy the car there, and have made it clear that I am only there in the winter.
When the fuel pump recall came out, it was they who called me. My own dealer? Crickets.

Good catch! Thank you very much!

The TSB seems to fix wide range of issues with Infoteinment. Mine was crashing with communication lost and rebooting. never stores codes. Never had blank screen or popping sound, but TSB seems to have resolved it for me. So its worth a try next time you are at the dealer

It involves removing panels and back seat. If done neatly — its all good. Watch out for them scratching your interior panels. I got a new tinny scratch in back pillar that you wont easily notice, so I let it go, No issue, but could have been worse. If you go through this TSB, take pictures of your interior and inform service advisor that you have no scratches whatsoever and if you get one you will demand them to fix it. Have them document it, otherwise you will never prove if tinny scratch is new or old.
TSB really fixed my issue of communication lost and system reboot. Its no longer happening and I am very happy with how it works.
