Apple Carplay dropouts
Apple Carplay dropouts
e Hey folks, I am using an iPhone 11 in my RDX and am having spontaneous disconnects/reconnects using Carplay. Changed out the cords to a new Apple cord, but still happens. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks
Are u talking about actual phone disconnects as what happens is u just unplug the phone while listening to music or just audio dropouts?
Anyone figure out the cause an/or solution to this issue yet? I've tried various cords so that's not the issue. I receive consistent apple car play connections and disconnections while plugged in and operating the vehicle. Extremely annoying to say the least.

I have another thread on this issue downstream a bit, but as suggested, it is more often the Apple iOS version your phone is using than the cable you connect with. I am a public beta tester, so I am often getting different updates, and some work well and some do not. In my evaluation of the betas, I do include how the version works in my RDX, so Apple is usually aware of the issues if they look at their app.
Oh, BTW, I am currently on iOS 14.3 and it works pretty well now

This is what fixed all Apple CarPlay disconnects with my 2019 RDX Advance and iPhones...(I didn't reset the car or the iPhone)...1. Make sure the USB cord is already connected to the USB connector in the RDX console
2. While iPhone is locked, plug the phone into the USB cord
3. Start the car’s engine
4. Wait for the car’s Infotainment system to start up and detects the connected iPhone
5. CarPlay should automatically display in the Infotainment screen
6. Access and/or control CarPlay using the True Touchpad A (left screen) (do not touch your iPhone)
Following the above simple steps have solved my issues with CarPlay disconnects on my 2019 RDX for many months now.
Simply plug the phone into the USB connection before starting the car. That's it!
Hope this helps.
