Upgrade from first gen rdx

Finally pulled the trigger after researching 3rd gen rdx. 2020 ASPEC AWD. Black majestic pearl and black interiors, absolutely love it. Coming from 2008 RDX which I drop for 12 years with mostly trouble free 193k miles, and nothing was wrong with it when I sold it... hopefully 3rd gen can last as much

Congratulations! Not surprised to read that your 1G RDX was bullet proof! I'm curious, how would you rate the drive of the 1G vs the 3G? Which is sportier?

Big improvement in power and how refined it is. No noticeable turbo lag, the ride is more quiet and stable.
will miss my old rdx, was a good working horse that never left me stranded

I came from an '09 Honda. Upgrading to the RDX is like getting into a spaceship compared to my old car.

That's the weakness of the gen 3. If you limit infotainment to use to radio and bluetooth for calls, there will be no problems (this is what I try to do). Use navigation and bluetooth for Audio and there will be some problems. Use CarPlay and there will be many problems.

How about Bluetooth audio? Mine got messed up when I was playing with settings, was not using CarPlay or Navi. Went to adjust touchpad sensitivity from mid to low, and lost touchpad completely. Nothing helped, could not even do 3 button thing because touchpad was not working. Disconnect negative cable, and all back to normal.
at least I knew this could happen.... infotainment is not the biggest item that made me buy this car, so as long as it works with reasonable expectation it should be ok.
I should have taken to the dealer, but I have to go to work, and did not feel like driving without touchpad until dealer appt. they would probably do same thing I did, so what’s the point. But if it happens again, will go.

Don’t bother with the dealer if this fixes things, since that is all they will do. Dealers will not attempt to troubleshoot and get to the underlying problem, they just want you out of there if there is no billable time.

I put a couple hundred miles on mine this weekend, and I'm coming around to the infotainment system. Aside from some early minor glitches, it works pretty well. Maybe I'm just lucky (so far) though. I think the more I can control with my voice, the better. Unfortunately that's not always possible with the GPS. Also, the GPS is taking time for me to get used to. I'm trying to force myself to use it though so I get over the learning curve, before just defaulting to Google Maps.

I find that not switching things around in the middle of a drive works best for me.

If you can reproduce the problem it would be a big help to Acura. Aside from that the system is known to be glitchy. The more one plays with it and the more functions one is using, the more likely one is to encounter such glitches which include freezing and requiring a reboot.

I can try changing touchpad sensitivity again and see if it crashes... maybe will try it before dealer visit so they can see.
So far my car play is working OK.
