Turn Acura Safety Support Off Permanently
Apologies if this is covered in another thread, I did a search and could not find anything.
Question: Is there a permanent way to turn off the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)? I know you can turn it off each time you start the vehicle, but I am hoping there is a more permanent solution, similar to the Road Departure Mitigation system where you turn it off once and it stays off. I looked in the manual and it does not seem possible, but I figured I would ask this group just in case.
Have a great day.

Yes, I can turn it off every time; however, my original question was if there was a way to permanently turn it off. Thank you for the reply, Texasrdx21.

I’m with the OP
I’d also like to have the Collision Mitigation system off continuoulsy but admit it is a function of type of driving and individual driving habits. I have had people desire to change lane from my left (perhaps late or by mistake) but cut across my path. The result is quick and quite hard application of brakes accompanied by high engine revs. On dry pavement it is alarming; on wet or slippery roads It is hazardous.

It looks like these "auto braking" systems are here to stay. US to require automatic emergency braking on new vehicles in 5 years and set performance standards

Acurawatch is system that supports a defensive drivers and will drive you crazy if you lean towards a different driving style (aggressive, weaver, angry, speeder, etc...) . I didn't realize I was touch more of an aggressive driver when I had my 06 TSX Aspec/08 RDX. I was getting Acurawatch CMBS alert with the same driving style when I added my 11 MDX Adv with the 1st Gen ACC/CMBS system. I needed to lean more towards defensive and reduced my alerts down to 1-2 a year compared to 1-2 per week. There are occasions when the system will give false/positives errors.
