CarPlay turn by turn on HUD?
I have a '23 RDX aspec which is super fun and feels luxurious to me. My 2012 tsx sportwagon got totaled out by insurance and i needed a car fast. I fell in love with pretty interior and rims and it was all shiny. I didn't really shop around except for looking at subarus, which can't campare to the fun driving and luxury feel. HOWEVER, there are a few things that I am not sure can be "fixed" that really bug me, and I have thought about trading it in about once a week since I bought it.
First, about 25% of the time, when I shut driver my door and walk away, the car beeps 4 times. This happens 99% of the time after I shut the hatchback. Its like the door isn't shut all the way. But it is shut all the way. Is there a fix for this? I usually just hit the lock button on the fob. The car only has 16000 miles on it, and I expect it to behave better than this. I'v only had the car for 6 months, but it is no longer under manufacturers warranty.
The second thing is when the brakes are wet, they are super grabby and they make a groaning grinding sound that they don't make in dry conditions. Again, only has 16000 miles? They can't be out of adjustment? I don't get it. I had the care for a few months while it was still under warranty, but had 3 big life events all during the holiday season that distracted me from taking the car into the dealer. My bad for sure. But life.
The third thing is that I only get about 15 mpg. I mostly drive short distances around town. I expected to get more like 18-20 like my 2012 tsx sportwagon (which I loved and would still have if the insurance company hadn't totaled it out. There is not fix for the mpg, but it bugs me every time is see the average fuel mileage.
Fourth-when I go thru the carwash, I put the car in neutral (hold for 2 seconds so it stays in nuetral). Is there a way to go straight into Drive-instead of having to put it in Park then drive. In a drive through carwash, often there is a car 5 feet behind me and I always get honked at when Iput the xcar in park. I don't think other drivers have to do this. There must me a better way.
MOST aggravating is the Collision mitigation system mentioned in this thread. The Collision Mitigation system has slammed on my breaks several times for no reason. It is super scary to be going 50 mph and have the breaks slammed because I was passing a big rig that was in the left turn lane. Or backing in to my steep driveway - SLAM! I feel like it is super dangerous. I hate it. I know I can turn it off each time I drive, but with all the warning systems, I don't always remember which is which.
There are several 'safety features' that absolutely cause me to panic. I guess I'm used to driving old beater cars. The idle off feature makes me think I need to jump out and push the car through the intersection. And don't get me started on the lane change or leaving the roadway vibration. It makes me think I just busted a tie rod. I guess this is the way of the future, and I need to adapt. But If I could fix the door beeps, the brakes, and the Collision MItigation system, I would feel better about the poor gas mileage.
Any thoughts?
