I know the A Spec doesn’t come with a spare tire, but can you purchase one and add it to the vehicle? I’ve had one vehicle without a spare and I won’t have another.

Just know there is an ASpec spare kit and a Tech/Advanced spare kit. I don't recall the difference but I believe the ASpec spare might have been a little wider...anyway, there are two different sets. Also, I thought it might be one of the accessories I could finally install myself....however, there are some phillips head screws of pretty good size that have to be removed in the rear and I could not get one of them loose....so ff to the dealer. I recall they needed a #3 phillips, the one size i guess I didn't have or somethging, but for fear of stripping the head out I just let them do it. Where I live not having a spare is not an option, and by adding it, you have that pump/sealant kit that comes with the car still in one of the cubbys under the rear floorboard so you have2 options for a flat.

I believe the difference between the kits is a sticker that gets installed over the top of the inflation pressure recommendation sticker on the driver's door jamb. No joke. The sticker has pressures for both the spare and the OEM tire, and those are different for A-Spec and other trims ( along with tire size ). But this is the stuff of legend, and I haven't seen it personally.
This is the first thing I added to our A-Spec. The kits are the same part number, it's the spare tire that is different. The better online sites will have this information.
A good whack with a hammer to the end of the screwdriver will help loosen those screws. These are the screws in the tie downs that will have to be removed to remove the inner tray. Buy a cheap #3 Phillips before hand also.
I paid $15 to have a tire dealer mount the spare on the rim, and 2 beers later I had the kit installed.
Why would the spare tire be different for A-Spec? The spare rims are all 17" ( 17 x 4T ), and the effective rolling diameter of all the OEM full-size tires is the same. AFAIK T155/90D17 is the recommended spare tire size, for any trim. That's what came on the preinstalled spare for my 2019 RDX Advance SH-AWD.
I just wanted to chime in how easy the install was. It took me about 30 minutes after paying a local shop $20 to put the tire on the rim.
Assuming you don't strip the infamous #3 Phillips head bolts for the luggage tie-downs. Been there, done that, on a previous Honda, and turned a 15 minute project into several hours. Including a trip to the hardware store for hardened drill bits and a screw extractor.
You can source the tire locally too and save some money. I ordered it at Walmart and they mounted it free. I think it was $75 for the tire.
Kit was easy to install other than the phillips head screws for the tie downs.
I have an impact driver with several different heads and one of the large phillips heads fit perfectly. Without that it would have been far more difficult.

Is there a video to show the installation of the spare tire kit? I would love to install it on my A-Spec.
