I always hoped my tranny would hold up but the cl-s tranny is starting to slip between 2nd and 3rd. It happen twice today so does that=dead tranny?
I called the dealership and the wait list for a loaner is booked all the way to feb 12
I wish there was another ACURA dealership in San Antonio!

consider your tranny toast....
Owning a TL left a bad taste in my mouth. If it wasn't for the tranny and rotors and rattles and cdplayer not playing burned cd's I would have bought another acura but the tranny was the last draw.
Acura's handling of the tranny situation is very poor and they have basically lost me as a customer for life.
BTW I now roll a 98 honda accord

I dont get it???? the 6 gen accord is just as worse if compare to the tl/cl
i have both cars and even though they share a lot of things the 6 gen accord has more rattles and other problems. It also is prone to tranny problems too!

To those who have had the tranny problem, does it start of like this:
1-2 Shift OK
2-3 Shift feels like it goes in neutral and the revs go up really quick, then it shifts to 3rd???

A little hesitation is what I am getting now (on my 2nd Tranny) when going into or out of 3rd...
On the first Tranny, right before it shit the bed, it was doing as Habiib says above

Did you ask your dealer for a rental? No way in hell I'd be driving around with a tranny I knew was bad.
I'd call and ask to be put in a rental. Even if it's a POS rental. You'll be a hell of a lot safer.

BTW, not everyone's tranny will die. Acura's numbers say around 2%, but I think it's closer to 5%.... however, i know a TON of people with TLs and CLs between 2001 and 2003. Honestly... probably about 15 or so people (not counting board members of course)... and only two went... mine and my parent's neighbor's... and some of them have more miles then I do. If you do the math it rounds to 1.3% (2 divided by 16).... so I think most people will be fine.. however, a bunch of us will fail. Now... keeping the car over 100k miles... that's another issue and I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Tranny #1 dead at 30,000 miles
Tranny #2 dead at 40,000 miles as of 1/26.
Only good thing is I was able to get a TSX loaner for a week or so.
I wonder if the Lemon Law kicks in if this next tranny goes out.
