Question Side mirror issue?

We bought a '21 A-Spec a couple of weeks ago. Something I just noticed is when the car is in reverse and the side mirrors are set to tilt down, only one will go down. And it will be the one the mirror switch is set to (button is to the left and only left mirror tilts down and vice versa). Is this normal or some sort of an issue?

Normal. Use the switch to select which mirror you want to tilt down in reverse.. Center the switch for no tilt.

Glad to know that's normal. But that's weird. Every vehicle I've had that has this function has both mirrors tilt down.

Interesting. With the BMWs I owned (MY 2003, 2014, 2016), only the passenger side would tilt, and only when the adjustment switch pointed to the driver side.

Why do you want both to tilt? It's mainly useful when parallel parking, but its function can mostly be replaced with the camera, although the RDX's camera isn't as accurate.

One thing I noticed is that when you're backing out of a regular parking spot in a parking lot, if this mirror is tilted, it does affect your ability to see cars that are directly behind you but that are not visible in the camera because you're backing out at an angle. If the mirror is in the regular position, then you can see cars. So I now keep the switch in the center at all times and only force the tilt when parallel parking.
