Mirror tilt in reverse?

I know my mirrors used to tilt down on my 08 TL when I put it in reverse, but I noticed today that they don't anymore. Is this a setting that I toggled off by mistake, or did they stop working?

You need to have the mirror switch either to the right or left. Whichever way the switch is positioned is the side mirror that will tilt. If the switch is in the middle neither mirror will tilt.

Probably.

It's the Mirror Select Switch.

Set to L = Left tilts in Reverse
Set to R = Right tilts in Reverse
Set to Center/None = No tilt.

That makes sense. No way to have them both tilt, then?

the theory is that you are parking next to the curb on only one side of the car!
thats why the mirror tilts down~

Its a good idea to read the OWNER BOOK cover to cover- it explains each system
especially the traction control- that will outthink you and take over certain functions if it senses you are about to lose control'
read up and practice while the weathwer is good or be surprised in the ice!

good thing i caught a glimpse of this thread, cause i recently noticed that my mirror didn't tilt when i was reversing, and i was a bit frustrated i didn't notice it earlier since my extended warranty just ended last week, but now i realized that when i was cleaning my car last week, i bumped the switch for adjusting the mirrors to the center position...i switched it back to my left mirror and have a working reverse tilt again....i love "fixes" from these forums

^ lol - that's what's awesome about this page...you get to know things that you didn't realize how easy to fix, just by pressing a simple button.

In my case, i was a little upset that our navi didn't have a text to speech feature (so i thought)--> and after looking at the link of features you found in your car (one of the stickies)...it tells you how to adjust the navi to the text to speech feature!
