'08 side view mirrors/ rear cam

I noticed today that the side view mirrors did not tilt down when I put in reverse. I reset in park, then reverse again...this time the driver's side only tilted. I reset again, then reverse and neither tilted. Been the same all day(no tilt). Anyone had this happen? Did you end up going to the dealer? Have had the car for 4 weeks. Thanks

Well the mirrors tilt depending on the position of the mirror adjustment switch, if you have the switch on the left mirror that mirror will only tilt when put into reverse if you have it on the right that one will only tilt in reverse. If you have the switch in either position and they dont tilt at all then you have a problem.

Your mirror adjustment switch is probably in the center (off). It also controls the reverse tilt, move the adjustment switch to the right or left, just like you would to adjust the mirror and the cooresponding mirror will tilt down when you reverse.

RTFM

What did you "reset"? Your mirror adjustment switch is probably in the center (off) now. It also controls the reverse tilt, move the adjustment switch to the right or left, just like you would to adjust the mirror and the cooresponding mirror will tilt down when you reverse.

What I mean by "reset" is shifting into "park" then back to reverse. I moved the adjustment switch to left and right and the corresponding mirror will tilt. I moved the adjustment switch to center and neither mirror tilted. Before yesterday, both mirrors would tilt in reverse...something has happened.

Sounds like it is working as expected.

- Mirror Adj switch to the LEFT --> Driver-side Mirror Tilts in Reverse
- Mirror Adj switch to the RIGHT --> Passenger-side Mirror Tilts in Reverse
- Mirror Adj switch to Center/Off --> Neither Mirror Tilts in Reverse.

Not to be taken the wrong way, but I'm not sure you *really* saw both mirrors tilt at the same time. I've just never heard of it, and now everything seems fine. Regardless, what you describe now is what is supposed to happen.
