I'm looking for a 2020 Advanced SH-AWD Modern Steel Metallic model.
I was hoping to take advantage of the 0.9% APR right now, however the OTD prices I'm getting are in the realm of $50K.
I've asked that the sales price goes down to 43,000 to 44,000 with an OTD price of ~46,000 or so.
I've even explained that if 0.9% won't work, what can be done at 3.9% ...and no one follows up with me.

At this point, I'm thinking that I'll just continue to save and jump over to a Model Y instead. All in all though, this has been a kind of frustrating experience with Acura. Dealerships just don't follow up with me and when I inquire about the exact model I want that is on their lot, they don't budge at all.

Have you tried the Costco or comparable car buying program? If you look at my post above I used their quote to take to another dealer who matched it.

I don't know if you have costco or sams or some other where house club but you could always sign up and cancel after at most a year. Might be the best $50 you've spent.

or, you could also head over to the Fighting Chance website and get some great advice about how to buy a new car. If you’re not getting responses from multiple dealers, then I hate to say it, but the problem is most likely you.

can you explain this please......cannot we come out of acura finance right after first month , do we really need to stick for 3 months...do they have any caluse to stick for 3 months or 6 months?
you have no obligation to wait 3 months. My 1st payment is due later this month, and I only owe $38.63 on my loan. When I pay off the loan, I will have paid less than $35.00 in interest.

I didn't negotiate hard but I think I negotiated respectfully. I had actually received a quote from another dealer farther away that was a few hundred dollars lower. I really wanted to buy local (it's important to me to support local business, plus I wanted to buy from the same dealer I'd get service from). This became my mantra over two weeks. I want to buy from you guys. Come close. And they did. I never asked them to beat it or to match it. Just come close. And I respected their process and had patience. In the end it worked out. I've bought all my cars this way and have walked away pretty pleased each time. Btw keep in mind that if you take the finance rebate you can't get the 0.9% and vice versa. No big deal for us since we're paying the loan off in a couple of months anyway...

And she's modern steel. No paint upcharge. I wanted red or blue but those are really hard to get your hands on in an advance.

makes sense. I’m gonna call around and see what I could get for offers. There’s a local place I’d be doing my services from so I’d def wanna see if I can get them the sale but save a lot. First offer they came up with on the advance was about 48 with the Acura financing.

2020 Acura RDX AWD w/ Tech Pkg (RED)

MSRP: $44,200

Dealer Disc: -$4,000

Sale Price: $40,200

Incentive: -$1,750 (Conquest+Flex)

Subtotal: $38,450 (13% off MSRP)

NY Tax (8.4%): $3,375

NY DMV/Reg: $250

Out The Door: $42,075 (financed @ 0.9%)

Free Bonus: All Season Weather Mats

If you’re reading this post, just know $38k before tax and options ($400 Red) is a good price for the AWD Tech with 0.9% financing. I read this entire thread and found many of the figures posted are half-baked. Incentives, finance options, and dealer fees can make or break any deal. Not to mention negotiating dealers to sell you a extremely popular car for 1-3k less than the next guy. So just get something close or better and enjoy your new car!

Acura financing can get you another $1,500 off the price. Depending upon how fast you plan to pay off the loan, that could be a decent amount of savings.

I see, I may only commit to a 60 or a 66 just get a little extra time to pay off, I could possibly pay off it 48 but might be tough. I would have to go down to 48? or something to get that. if did get that 1500 that would put me at what I think is the best price I could get.

Is that for an AWD? I am looking for the advance AWD in NYC vicinity and not getting good discounts. If you are close to New York, would you mind sharing the dealer information please? TIA

Yeah, Finance through Acura and that discount, and dealers also have a rebate flex cash, also try to get a solid Quote from one dealer then work each dealer from there. and be okay walking away just keeps the negotiating going. also just work on just getting the MSRP down. anything between 9-13% is pretty good drop and just be straight up about having them close to that.

That's a fantastic sale price. I'm being quote 47,00 and 46,500 for an Advanced with SH-AWD. OTD prices of 49,000 and 50,000...Orange County, California. Go figure.

I’d push to get at least 8 to 9% if that’s the case. Also you may have better luck at a dealer in an area that may not have people who don’t give a damn about paying full price.

Just wanted to say thanks for sharing all the info. Really helped me get a good feel for the market.
I just purchased a 2020 Base SH-AWD this pas weekend and I'm enjoying the car:
2020 Acura RDX SH-AWD with MSRP of $40,595
With our Installed Items of Protection Package $895 & Clear Shield $395 I'll do Total Savings of $7000 so including the Conquest program your Special Price will be $34,885
Doc Fee $85
Licence / Title $517
Tire, Battery Fee $10.75
Sales Tax base on 7.75% $2840
Total OTD $38,348
You have to Finance with Acura Financial Service Standard Rate to get this Deal or you Loose $1500 Rebate to get the 0.9% @ 60 Month!

I negotiated OTD down to $37,995 before leaving. Hope that helps!!!

Hi Guys - First timer here since the last Acura I owned was a 99 CL....

That said - looking to join the family again! I don't have breakdown of the fees, but at Stevens Creek Acura, they would be able to get me an AWD A-Spec for $45K OTD (this includes the Financing discount, and Loyalty discount since my wife purchased her ILX from them in 2016).

Not sure if I can do better, what do you guys think?

Unfortunately, I forgot to grab the sheet they broke down the fees on since I only ever look at the total OTD price (I don't have to worry about how they adjust their 'fees' this way) but I guess the sale price would be $41K + $4K TTL = $45K OTD ($8K for my 2012 GTI with only 59K Miles!)

If it's not clear, they're offering me $8K for my VW GTI.

I don't know, so I"m just wondering, is $45K a good OTD price for a 2020 AWD A-Spec?

Yes that’s not bad at all about 9% off MSRP. Highest I’ve seen here so far is 13% so you could try to get some accessories thrown in to seal the deal.

I found the following article from Edmunds very helpful in breaking down the confusing charges that dealers from different states quote when negotiating.

If anyone is interested in talking to the Acura sales rep in upstate NY who sold me my 2020 Advance for $44,800 before rebates, and $42,550 after rebates, please send me a DM. I don't get anything out of it, but he wants to sell lots of RDXs and is willing to continue to be very aggressive on price. Nice guy. And, once again, I have zero affiliation with the dealer other than having bought an RDX from them 3 weeks ago. Don't expect to get a good deal on accessories or warranties though.. they are pretty much list on those.

2 quotes for a A-Spec SH-AWD, no real negotiation.

MSRP: $46,795
Quote 1: 42,545: Includes $1500 Acura financing at 5%, $1750 dealer discount, $1000 Honda discount (my 09 TL was too old)
Quote 2: $44,045: 0.9% financing, $1750 dealer discount, $1000 Honda discount

I can get 2.5% financing from my bank, so saving $1500 seems worth the hassle of refinancing an auto loan.

Considering I got my 2020 Advance for $42,550 with the same rebates, I think you could probably do better.

So I sat down and looked at the numbers. Assuming a $35k loan, I would pay $3,203 in interest on a refinanced loan at 3.5% and $807 on the 0.9% promotional rate. So not a great deal unless you are planning on paying off immediately.

0.9% is a good deal even if it costs $1500 more.

2020 RDX Apex Blue SHAWD

New 2020 RDX ASPEC Apex Blue SHAWD in Minneapolis/ St. Paul Area....

List price - $47,195
Dealer Discount - $3,049
Rebates - $4,250 ($500 free accessory offer + $1,500 Acura Finance Rebate + $1,500 Loyalty offer + $750 Flex cash offer)
Selling Price - $39,896
Tax (6.5%) - $2,821
Fees (DMV, Doc, etc.) - $745
Out the door - $43,462

I then added the following accessories: heated steering wheel and 3M film for the door cups and edges.
I declined the $3500 extended warranty. Too expensive. Can shop around for that.

During black Friday Bernardi Parts had free shipping so I saved $400 shipping on the following accessories which were already 33% off MSRP - All Weather floor mats, trunk liner, roof rails and running boards.
