I recently watched a video where a Honda mechanic mentioned that the PCV valve on our vehicles should be replaced every 60k miles and It helped me finally fix an issue I’ve been trying to track down for the last six months. I own a 2021 RDX with about 65k miles, and ever since around 50k I noticed a loss of low- and mid-range torque, even though there were no fault codes. It just wasn’t spinning the wheels in 3rd gear under full throttle like it used to(FWD)
After watching the video, I ordered a new PCV valve and replaced it a couple of days ago. The problem is completely gone. The car feels strong again—low-end torque is back, and it’s even breaking loose in 3rd gear like before. One thing I did notice when the issue first started was that the turbo pressure/vacuum gauge began fluctuating slightly at idle, after the fix fluctuations were gone. This
might be a sign of a failing PCV valve. Interestingly, when I cut the old one open, it was totally clean inside with no visible wear.

When I first noticed the issue, my mechanic told me I’d just gotten used to the vehicle. So I bought a Ktuner and flashed it to Stage 2 with 93 octane. The problem was still there, but now it’s gone, so I don’t think it was just placebo.
