Paint Issues

Hi all, I purchased a majestic black aspec earlier this month. What are you doing for paint maintenance in dealing with bird droppings? I have had to light compound, polish, and wax each time a bird has hit the paint. When cleaned off, you can see an outline in the paint. I don’t have an option to park under a carport during the day at work and this is when it occurs. Any tip? Suggestions? It’s beautiful when clean but proving to be a lot of work, especially these bird droppings.

I don't think there is much you can do. Just try to remove it asap. The longer it dwells on the paint, the harder it will be to remove the remnants it leaves behind. I have used Scratch X with success on my Apex Blue (just had my first bird dropping in less than week of ownership yesterday). Anyway, that removed everything and didn't leave any outline that you mentioned.

As thoiboi mentioned, have you tried a ceramic coating spray? I think Nextgen Ceramic Spray is supposed to be one of the better ceramic sprays on the market. I have never used it, but understand a ceramic spray provides better protection against acidic bird crap than regular car wax. Worth a try?

I have a similar post about the paint... We have red A spec and I’ve noticed that the clear coat is extremely extremely soft. Our car had the CeramiShield applied by the dealer by accident, which is their ceramic coating essentially. It didn’t do anything to say the least. A week after purchase a bird dropping etching, which polished out. I also left a bunch of micro scratches on the hood when unrolling the clear bra film on it - I was shocked. Using Sonax Profiline and a yellow pad, I corrected the car and applied Cquartz UK 3.0 and Gliss over the weekend. I have the Cquartz on my A4 and it’s been amazing for the past 2 years.

A buddy of mine did my partial PPF, so i'm going to have him just do the whole hood once i polish out the other mark. Needless to say, i just got a survey to send back to ACURA, best believe I will be complaining about it.
