Over The Air (OTA) Software Update D.1.6.2 and FDC17.07.007 / NAD200.0.9A00
I was driving into work this morning and noticed there was an update available. I have been on 1.5.1 for almost a year now. I tried to install when the the car was off option and it did not allow me to. It said the car had to be running for 40 minutes. Did anyone else see this update or get a chance to install it? I will try installing on my way home later today.

My system updated this morning to D 1.6.2 will see what's new
I was a little concerned someone had hacked the system since I can't find any notes (yet) about what the update does. Since there are folks here indicating there is an update, I went ahead and let it go. So far the car still works, but I just let it update after I got to work and I have only started it once. Will let folks know if I see anything.
From the information embedded in the USB file, this is a minor update to switch the TCU (telematics) to VoLTE due to 3G sunset. The file size is only ~9mb, I have not checked if wireless OTA shows the same info.
dprichter---thanks for posting.Got it
midwestuser1---for the update version number. Seems like it has been a long dry spell since the last update
and
sonyfever---for what's updated. Seems pretty minor for sure based on what you wrote. Surprised this wasn't just 1.5.2. 1.6.2 seems like...more. I was only hoping we would see the 'digital speed' showing up, but apparently not.
An update supplying a digital dash speedometer would unfortunately have to come via the dealer through the ODB-II connector or some other technician's access; the dash systems are usually logically separated from infotainment for safety reasons.

Got it. Thanks. Learn something new everyday---now---it's just remembering it!

D 1.6.2 installed in about 30 minutes. The only thing I checked out so far after installing it is the third party dongle that does wireless CarPlay, figuring if something would break, that would be it. Seems to be working fine so far.
I tried multiple times but, my car still insists that 1.5.1 is up to date and that no updates are available. I started the car several times and was connected to my wi-fi. Maybe they’re delaying 2021 models for a few days?
I have had that problem with my 2019 RDX with more than one update, but it always got it done within a couple days. Not sure if Acura parses the updates out X number at a time. Your comment about "a few days" I am sure will happens. Just a note, but I have never seen, that I recall, any of the 'problems' it fixes, nor do I notice any difference since updating.
I was hoping the USB music downloading I was having issues with would somehow magically be fixed. Had no real hope, and that low goal was achieved unfortunately.
And of course hoping for the digital speed indicator like on the 2022's, but was advised that this software update doesn't do that kind of thing.
I started my update with the car running in the driveway, and it hung at step 6. After an hour I had to go somewhere, took off, the USB Audio worked but the update still was stuck at Step 6. I will see how it is in the morning. Nothing unusual it seems!

same here, happened last time also, I believe software rollout by VINs in batches.

My understanding is that 2021 may already have the updated TCU firmware. Keep in mind TCU update is critical, so Honda needs to push out the TCU update asap. Maybe they need to create another package for 2021, or maybe D1.6.2 is the precursor of another update that will apply to all RDXs.
The TCU FW update seems to work well. My WiFi hotspot speed is generally faster at the same location, especially the upload speed is improved substantially. Ping is still high (+40ms), though.

I am 2020, are you saying this update is only for 21+?

If you don’t mind me asking… What year Acura do you have and what’s the name/link of the dongle?
You may have removed it from the Home page. Swipe to see if it's on the 2nd page or swipe back to see the complete list. You can add or remove them from the Home page or HUD.
I removed satellite radio, Apple Carplay and AT&T wifi because I'll never use them.

Didn't see any post about this yet but my 2019 RDX A-spec just let me know there was a new update, D.1.6.2. Looks like it will be mandatory to get future updates as the move from 3G to LTE. No new features that I've seen yet.
