I need to replace my inner tail light assembly (I backed into a trash can in my garage lol) in my RDX 2021 and this shop is quoting me $1895 to replace it which I think is a rip off. I ended up ordering the part myself (waiting for it to come in) and I am wondering is it really hard to replace? I have a pic to show the part I am referring to. I may try another shop if I can’t do it and tell them I already have the part. The dealership won’t change it and told me to go to an auto body shop.

Bottom is cracked (red part, inner tail light assembly)

 

its 3 bolts and one plug
you’d just need to remove the inner plastic liner which u can do with simple amazon pry tools for $5

the hatch plastic isnt hard but ifnu search youtube you’ll find other honda installs or dash cams to get the gist of it

That's what I said. It prompted me to look up the cost of the part and when I did the part was about $200+ bucks so that's why I was determined to just fix it myself vs paying over 1K for a tail light. I'm surprised the dealership won't fix it for me because it's not that bad. I can't believe I damaged my vehicle after only having it for 6 months. LOL

 

I finally got it replaced but then I realized after the fact the taillight I replaced is for the base level trim. I have the 2021 Advanced SH-AWD and I can't find the one with the chrome around the taillight. Now I'm driving around with mismatch taillights LOL. Do you know where I can order it from because I looked everywhere and can't find one for the advanced level trim?

base , tech , advanced is all the same tails
the ones you have are aspec (black base) and its just the inners) aspec exteriors are the same as the rest if the trims.

 

Thanks for the information. I really like the Aspec ones after having this mistake happen. I just ordered both LOL. Whichever one I end up not using I will just resale it online. Who knew driving into a trash can would cause me this much drama with a taillight.
