Does anyone use Google Satellite Maps on RDX via Carplay ? Any issues ? Looks like lots of infotainment issues so far and want to make sure goole satelitte maps works before I buy RDX Advanced.

 

I've been using it on and off. It works pretty good. The only trouble I've had is the voice input can't find places I try to input.

 

 

You have use Apple Carplay .. I am still waiting for Android version

 

Google Satellite maps makes for a pretty busy display in a car, IMO, at least with the patchwork quilt of farm fields in my area. I confirmed that it works and went right back to the normal road map display. It might be of more benefit in more remote and/or less agricultural areas, especially if you wish to travel on unimproved roads that may not be on the road map. Whether the RDX is an appropriate tool for that task, is a completely different question. ( I might do it, but I'm crazy... just ask my kids! ).

 

It works fine, but I found myself looking at the screen a lot, seeing things near the road that I never knew were there. It was a bit distracting, but fun. Not something I would want to have up there all of the time. Actually, I don't really use CarPlay as it's very difficult to use in the car with the controls and all. I am sure it's going to improve as we get updates to the system.

For now I leave my phone as a separate entity.
