Gap in tailgate seal

In the interest of leaving the other thread on topic, I'm creating a new thread.

I had this issue (which has nothing to do with massive hesitation):
https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g.../#post16503954

They were able to adjust it and now there is no longer any gap.

Just an FYI for folks to check the seal. Appears to have affected others.

Congratulations! Hopefully, this fix won't impact the warranty.

It was repaired by the dealer under warranty. Interesting avatar--give us some background info.

Just noticed mine is like that too, it was not like that to begin with, I am guessing it shrunk. Not a big deal, but since its under warranty why not fix it next time car for service

My tailgate makes a farting noise when opening. Is this a seal issue?

The dealership sprayed lube on it but the noise came back after a couple days.

If it makes any noise, take it in. I had a squeaky tailgate, intermittent problem. Took it to the dealer and they knew what the problem was and fixed it.

Check this thread which discusses how many got it resolved.

usually its not. I have no noise issues, its just visual annoyance of a split in the seal

is it when it first opens or after a second?
The top seal is very noisy on mine. I had it in once before for a new seal all around, but that noise has stayed.
don't want to put lub on it cuz it will be worse after a while, like sticky. Powder maybe? Want to keep it dry

Few times a year I coat all rubber seals and bushings, including door rubber, with AT205 seal. It supposed to rejuvenate rubber and is not greasy. Keeps rubber looking new and not dryed.
