Fuel Door Buzz

I have a 2019 with 30K miles. Starting today, when I get the beep from walk-away locking, a loud buzz comes from the fuel door lock for about 2 seconds. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have not, but I know that the power locks do engage the fuel filler door. Check to see if there are any obstructions at the fuel door, or if the lock plunger is stuck or otherwise not working freely. ( I don't remember if it is easily visible, but I think it is with the door open) Perhaps it is the actuator that is stuck or failing.

Let us know what you see.

Since my Acura dealer is over two hours away, my local Honda dealer this morning replaced the S74700-TJB-A02 Fuel Lid Actuator and there is no more buzz.

I wonder if there is a manufacturing issue. I also have a 2019 RDX and just this week have had the same buzzing noise coming from the fuel door when locking (doesn't happen when unlocking). Was your repair covered under a TSB or extended warranty? If you had to pay, could you give me an idea of the cost (doesn't need to be exact but I'm retired and need to budget for larger expenses: under $100, under $500)?
Thanks.

I have to ask, if the car is out of warranty, why even replace it? The buzz isn’t hurting anything, except it might be a little irritating to you. I would leave it alone, if it fails completely you can still open the door using the little Pull Me lanyard inside the cargo area. Then you can get it changed.

Quality part - NOT! Lucky for you the Honda dealer did the warranty work - the local Honda dealer told me they don’t - even though the nearest Acura dealer is 140 miles away. Like not having a warranty at all. Honda/Acura needs to fix that stance nationwide.

Before going too far down the replacement road ……….add a couple for drops of lubricant* on the actuator shaft.

*WD40, silicon spray, Teflon spray, etc
