Drying time to paint hood ?
Drying time to paint hood ?
Hey guys. I just picked up a CPO RDX that had a chip on the hood. Dealer said they would fix it but when I came to pick it up, it looked sloppy like they just put a little touch up paint on it and didn't really blend it at all.
Because its on the hood, they agreed to paint the entire hood which I thought was nice of them to offer. 2.5 days after it was brought back in to have hood painted, they said it was done.
I was always under the impression that it should take a week or so for paint to cure and dry. Can they actually do it in only 2.5 days or might there have been a shortcut I am unaware of ?

It can be done. They use a heated booth or portable heaters to dry the primer and paint between coats. When I had my RDX this was a normal turn around time and you couldn’t tell any work had been done.
Great, TY. Answers are all over the place on the internet so this is helpful and appreciated.
