Driver's seat not returning to saved position

I have what seems like a bizarre problem with my driver's side memory seat in that it never returns to the saved position - it invariably doesn't move forward enough and I always have to adjust it forward a half inch or so (sometimes a bit more). At first I thought I was crazy because it was just off by a little bit but it happens nearly every time (9 out of 10 times) I get into the car.

Wondering if anyone has encountered this and if you've resolved it yet - I'm due for a dealer visit for a few issues (squeaky brakes, squeaky tailgate and this) but wondered how folks explain this particular issue and what it took to fix it.

Did you press and hold the button on the door to lock it into memory?

AFTER you've adjusted it the way you want it?

Yup, every time I adjust it I save it right away but next time I get in the car it doesn't move forward enough. Everything else returns to the correct setting except for how far forward the seat should be. At first I thought it was just me finding a new spot and adjusting it but the past month I've had my foot flat on the dead pedal and each time I get back in it's in the wrong position.

Does the same thing happen with memory 2? Also, try experimenting with the other fob. Possibly a factory reset on the infotainment system.

That's all I got.

While I do not have the memory seat issue, the exit assist feature where the seat moves back a tiny bit on exit has stopped working on my RDX

I would have that fixed under warranty right away. I thought, when I first got the car, that the feature might just put undue wear and tear on the adjustable seat and I considered turning it off. But I'm 6'3" and it makes getting in and out of the car so much easier.

yeah, I’m keeping it for the first three years to see if the seat shows any sign of a problem. Before the warranty goes out, this stops.

Bumping this old thread that I started as I've had 3 dealer visits to try to address this issue. The first time they replaced the seat motor, the second time they replaced the seat memory module and the 3rd time they tested against another car and found the same behaviour and concluded that the memory seat returning to a position that was off by 3-5mm is considered normal.

The issue affects both my fob and my wife's - no matter what position I set the seat to it always returns to a spot that's about a quarter inch further back than what I saved so every time I get into the car I have to adjust it forward slightly.

Here's a simple question: does it always return to the same incorrect position? And what happens if you account for the incorrect position? In other words, deliberately save the wrong position so that it will move to the correct position, a quarter inch off?

I wish I had seen this post earlier because I would have told this guy this isn't an error. You can disable the exist assist feature on your seats. It's one of the settings. Hopefully, he sees it.

Thanks for the follow up. I have the same issue though less frequently than you. I guess it's just one of those things we have to live with.
