Consumer Reports2023 Reliability Survey
While the survey covers each companies total product line it is interesting to see the results. Whether or not I agree with their surveys, is not important only that it is an indication of overall reliability.
“This time around, Consumer Reports included 30 brands in its annual reliability survey, and out of that group, Ford ranked 22nd with a score of 40 out of 100 possible points. That ranks it behind Lexus (79), Toyota (76), Mini (71), Acura (70), Honda (70), Subaru (69), Mazda (67), Porsche (66), BMW (64), Kia (61), Hyundai (56), Buick (55), Infiniti (53), Tesla (48), Ram (46), Cadillac (45), Nissan (45), Genesis (44), Audi (43), Chevy (43), and Dodge (42), as well as ahead of Lincoln (38), GMC (36), Volvo (28), Jeep (26), Volkswagen (26), Rivian (24), Mercedes-Benz (23), and Chrysler (18)”.

So now that CR says the RDX is reliable, do people here like them again?

Thanks for sharing but don't buy these CR BS. They are useless and next year they will say Acura is below average. We all know Acura's reliability is top notch. I don't need CR to tell me lol! CR should stick to review the washer and dryer for my parents

My brakes squeak in reverse but I still love my car and would buy again in a heartbeat.
Acura/Honda has treated me right for over 20 years....I would never base my buying decision on Consumer Reports, maybe if i needed a new appliance I would consider them or if my wife wanted a new curling iron...lol.

I am staying away from a lot of reviewers as well. It's fun to watch and etc but honestly, most of them are not right and they have no time to really give feedback. Same BS....

Any third party reliability report is not worth much too me. So many variables in pay (owner driving habits, location of use and etc). On that note - my 21' Aspec SHawd has been rock solid and zero issues. Driving in all climates (-10f - 100+f degrees, snow, ice and super downpours). The platform is been out for years and Acura has fixed all the early reliability issues I have read on this forum.

I have my 2010 TL and never gave me any issues from -40 to +40 degree Celsius. Rock solid. I gave it 10/5 for reliability and low cost of maintenance.

We’ll be very very happy you didn’t buy a 2019 RDX. Mine (purchased new) has been an exemplary model of a nightmare; infotainment system ineffective replacements, exploded moonroof, brake noise, limp
mode and now unexpected acceleration; twice. And with 75,000 miles I’m told it’s worth $20K so the icing on the cake is its loss of value. Other than that I love the car (not kidding).

I don't understand the squeaky brakes complaint. Literally every OEM brake pads/rotors I've used on other brands squeaks to some extent. They perform average but I always throw on ceramic pads and coated rotors and braking squeaks are gone no matter what.

I think its the mileage on the car that kills the value. I had a 2012 TL that I sold for 21,500 with 53000 miles on it. But it was a manual...so that definitely helped.

I had a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited quad drive - its was a disaster and always in the shop. Other friends had the same 1st year model without a hiccup and other years after the 1st were super reliable (jeep worked out the issues from year one). My only regret was I kept it too long, and should have traded it in on something different quicker.
Newer RDX's are rock solid reliable. My 2021 (built in 10/2020) has not had one issue. It's probably one of the best built vehicles I have owned in decades.

$20k-ish is not bad after 5 years of ownership and 75k miles. Thats normal depreciation. Some new EV's are depreciating at 50% in the 1st year.
