Carrying a Christmas Tree on the roof: Bad idea?

‘Tis the season! With such a large area sun roof on the RDX I’m wondering if anyone has transported their Christmas Tree tied to the roof of their car? Or is it potentially too much stress on the glass? In the past, the cars I have used for this purpose either had no sunroof or a much smaller one by comparison.

Sounds like a good excuse to get roof racks and maybe even a basket

I was literally wondering this the other day! I used to toss on my crappy Slowbaru every year but now the wife and I both have cars with panoramic sunroofs so we are hesitant. I guess I can just get the tree delivered as one place my me offers the service.

PS- is calling a Subaru crappy an oxymoron? LOL

that's crazy.
I would get it wrapped in that netting, then put a big towel or similar underneath the whole thing. It will scratch and leave sap on the roof.
Glass I think would be fine.

The natural oil from the tree will keep the roof young and afresh.

My first new car was an '82 DL hatchback, front wheel drive only. 1600 cc engine, 5-speed manual, AM radio, roll up windows and no AC. In so many ways it was a great car and I put 144K miles on it. But it was a sssslllllug. I think it was 97 HP.
