Car won't move w/o seat belt
Started the car in Drive mode without wearing seat belt, car stopped within 2/3 feet and switched to Park. I kind of like it but what if the seat belt goes bad/nonfunction in future?

Kind of funny, I'm an avid wearer of seatbelts and will not allow anybody in my car who refuses to wear them, that said, here in New Hamster (the "Live Free or Die" state), adults in the front seat are not required to wear their seatbelts. I wonder if Acura has a "New Hampshire" option to defeat this feature.

I didn't even know this. Guess I've never driven without the seatbelt.
Does this apply to reverse too? Because I'm pretty sure I've backed out of the garage onto the driveway without putting on the seatbelt.
I know about the "car wash" mode to keep the car in neutral without a driver but I'd have to check the manual to recall exactly how it's done.

I havnt had this issue/feature at all, I took my seatbelt off when going into our parking garage, continued to drive and the beeping went away, never went into park when I stopped, not sure if this is a setting in the head unit or what, but mine doesn’t do that at all

First time it happened to me was when I stopped at my street mail box 4 houses down on the way home. FOB in my pocket, put the 19 MDX sh-sh-awd in park, proceeded to check the mail, car beeped at me about exiting the vehicle running with the FOB (engine was off in electric only mode), got back into the car (no seatbelt), and tried (and failed) to engage drive until I connected my seatbelt.

It might only happen under certain conditions.

Door Open
Perhaps you had the door open or ajar?

I purchased the sport hybrid MDX Adv in March because I have +435,000 miles between my other 3 vehicles. Still have the 06 TSX (son's college car), 08 RDX (daughter is borrowing it while TDY in the Army in San Antonio), and 11 MDX (heavy lift/tow vehicle).

A co-worker just bought a Passport and this happened to him. The first time he gassed up, he got back in and the car kept going into park. He was freaking out until he noticed the door was ajar. But I tried this on my RDX and it didn't happen, so I don't know.

What I think is happening with the OP is they have the drivers door open or a jar when the car is in gear with the drivers seat belt off. If the car sees a drivers door open, the drivers seat belt off and the car at a stop or slow roll, the car will automatically shift to park if it has the push button gear selector.

Wow! Didn't realize that! So you have 4 Acuras? Nice!

The lifetime seat belt warranty went away in 2007. The current Acuras have a 15 year or 150,000 mile warranty on them for manufacture defects.
