Hello,

So, the sunroof on my 21' Aspec is making a very strange sound when closing. It almost sounds like a crunching sound when I close it from the tilted position. It sounds normal when I open it to the tilt position though. I did open it all of the way, and I lubed the tracks. However, I am still getting the same "crunching" sound when it's opening. The first time it did it, I thought maybe the glass had cracked.

The glass panels seem to be aligned properly, so I'm not sure what's going on. I guess it will be ANOTHER dealer visit! Has anyone experienced this before? If so, any ideas on what it could be and how to fix it myself?

I have a 21 made in late 20. Never an issue with the roof, but then again I rarely ever use it. Actually wish it was omitted on the Aspec.

You Might have debris in the tracks that needs to be cleaned out if you use it a lot.

 

I fully opened the sunroof and didn't see any debris in it. However, I just called and made an appointment with Acura. They can figure it out!

 

Just for what it's worth, the dealer stated that they "realigned the front sunroof glass", lubed the sunroof, and reprogrammed it. It seems a little bit better, but it's still there. Whatever at this point, as long as it opens and closes who cares I suppose. I keep it closed 99% of the year anyway...
