Google is the software developer. When they deliver it to Acura - and it works - I feel confident Acura will deliver it to you. If your dealer promised a date, he has more confidence in Google than I do.

 

The new 2019 ILX has Android Auto, so how can an update to the RDX be too far behind, right?

True. Didn't think about that (that it's a different implementation and probably on a different timeline)...

 

Based on anecdotal reports on this forum it may be developed but has a number of issues. Might be that AndroidAuto testing is underway and not being released until it's ready.

 

Although I use Carplay, there is no absolute positioning with it. Maybe AA is trying to get to absolute positioning, and, if so, that might make me switch to Android, depending on how the whole implementation works out.

 

Google has no drivers for the RDX touchpad system. Supposedly they are actively working on them.
When they work, I presume Google will release them and Acura will make Android Auto available.
