First Sighting in the Wild (D.C. area)

Came across the river from Maryland to walk around Old Town Alexandria (Va.) yesterday and were strolling up King Street and, whoa! Finally saw a 2019 RDX, which was a Majestic Black Pearl. It was a little further down the street from us than I wished, close to the light at the intersection. Light turned green before I could reach it and enjoy looking up close and longer...lol.

I see a decent amount of RDXs and MDXs around these parts, but it sure took a while to see a new RDX, as fleeting as the occasion was.

Was told mine will arrive at the dealership this Thursday so I’ll have a look at one up close and personal as much as I will ever want very soon...ha ha.

Lucky me, in Fly-Over-Country! (Eagle, Idaho)

Got my 2019 SH-AWD Lunar Silver Advance & 2 days later spotted a White one in a driveway 3 blocks away. I think we'll be seeing a lot more as supplies get out to dealers. 👍😊 Hope yours is aa perfect as mine.

Nice! Cool there's two in such close proximity.

Congrats on yours! The wait is almost over for mine...can't wait.

If you're talking to me, I'm more pragmatic about technology. That is, I know what I've been using the last couple of years and the new Infotainment system will be a huge improvement and advancement over the current system in my '17.

Admittedly, I'm also a geek, so I like "new" technology and, frankly, between native, CarPlay, Google Maps, Waze, I'm sure I'll find something that will work fine for me. Meanwhile, I'll be looking for Acura and the third parties to fix things in their software.

Don't use Android so it won't affect me if Android takes 10 years or forever to arrive, but I do want it to come soon for the sake of those in that ecosystem.

I notice that a lot of the criticism on the new TTI / Infotainment is people having to learn a new way and feel it's too "complicated." Fair enough -- some people want simple, simple, simple. Not an issue whatsoever for me -- again, I'm a confessed geek, and love the innovativeness and raisons d'être for TTI (safety, ergonomics, etc.) and liked it when I test-drove the car.

No, I don't like that it won't let you zoom out from 1/4-mile view (really, Acura? Even my '17 does that.), but hopefully they'll send a system update for that, plus other enhancements based on feedback from the early adopters.

I'm not pollyanna...just not given to the hysteria that can sometimes spiral into ridiculousness (not discounting the real frustrations people have expressed, of course).

Right there with you birdy I am an EE and love the new toys and, as you, don't expect things to be trouble-free at launch. I've been through this several times with several cars and they will get it right but it won't all be resolved with a single update as some are hoping for. I grew up in Baltimore and still a big O's and Raven's fan!

Some of the best people I know and ever worked with are engineers...they reign in the people who go off on tangents or get on bridges to nowhere.

Yep -- the people who wait for the 2020 or later will be very grateful for the "beta testers" who got the 2019 (soon to include me...lol).

Awesome...go O's and Ravens, no matter what. The "bird" in birdonamission are, of course, in honor of the two famous Birds of Baltimore!!

Don’t mean to hijack you thread, but I saw my first in the wild in Chattanooga last weekend. We took my wife’s ‘14 RDX for a car wash and pulled in next to a ‘19. We have had our ‘19 since July 31 and that was the first time.

No, you didn't hijack. This thread is about sightings in the wild (or, any side convos, really - it's all about the RDX). Cool you were right next to one. I would've enjoyed that up-close look.

I'm starting to see them more frequently in my area.
I saw 2 blue ones yesterday in Ridgewood, NJ.
It made me think of you.

Hope you get it this week!

Nice! I think I would've been excited way more than reasonable if I saw 2 blue ones in one day like you did. Ha ha!

Thanks!
