AIS not engaging -- battery issue?
Thats what they are telling us, do you want to find out if its true? The second issue is starting and stoping engine many times, its more wear due to oil flowing downward and taking some time to lubricate parts again.
also, these cars already dilute oil with fuel, starting and stopping may contribute even more
The third issue is it shortening battery life.
Some folks dont keep cars for long time, so it might not matter.

In theory the beefier starter, AGM battery, and various parameters that determine if/when AIS will engage (and how long before it restarts) should account for those concerns. But yes, no amount of manufacturer testing or simulation will be as revealing as the observed long term ownership of hundreds of thousands of cars. Luckily, beyond the RDX we can also look toward the TLX and Accords with the same drivetrains, and we are going to have a huge sample size just within the next few years.
For me, I plan to use the car as designed, and let the chips fall where they may. If the car doesn't hold up, then maybe my next purchase isn't an Acura. The way I see it, if I have to adjust my usage because the car won't hold up the way it is designed to, then it's a bad design.
