2023 RDX headlights?

Hey guys,……we’re looking to move up from our 2018 Outback, to a 2023/2024 RDX-SH Technology Pkg, and have a question about the headlights.

Our 2018 OB has fantastic head and fog lights; the best feature is when you go around a curve or corner, the lights turn, which is great, especially in dimly lit areas, and older eyes.

So the question is compared to other vehicles you’ve driven, are the headlights on the RDX better, and do they really light up the road, to include corners and curves?

Thank you,
marc

They are the best I have experienced (came from multiple BMWs, the last 2 had xenons and all of them were horrible).

It gets the highest rating on IIHS.

These are not curve adaptive lights. Previously the Advance trim had curve adaptive lights but they actually had worse IIHS ratings so I think Acura made all of them fixed. The IIHS ratings account for visibility into a curve.

I don't believe Tech package cars are equipped with foglights. I don't drive much in fog, but in previous cars I found the foglights mostly useless even when driving in fog occasionally.

You'll have to figure out which variation of the Outback's lights you had, as the ratings are all over the place.

The LED headlights are some of the best out there, bright, wide pattern and long throw.

I came from a 2019 Legacy and was very happy with the headlights on it. I do think the ones on the RDX are even better. I find I don't miss the adaptive headlights from the Subaru even though those were a great addition. The one thing I don't like about the headlights on the RDX were the auto highbeams. I don't think the calibration the system was that good and its a more complicated step to the auto high beams on and off. I've disabled it and kept it off.

The auto hi beam works better in my 2023 than it did with the 2019.
