2019 Blackout

Does anyone know how hard it would be to change out the Chrome Pieces on front bumper (two on sides) and one chrome grille piece to reflect the look of the A-Spec? I would like to do this but not sure what parts and how involved this would be to swap out?

Pretty sure you can’t swap the side pieces on the lower bumper as they are different designs than on the A-Spec model.

This idea was discussed briefly in this other thread...

correct and then you still have all of the chrome around the windows and front grill. It’s not worth the Hassle or cost to blackout a tech or advanced model IMO.

I just purchased a Modern Steel Advanced.
I have a guy who is going to look at it and give me a price quote to black out the chrome parts (I think he will be wrapping them).
Will post back on what the cost is...

I really like Modern Teel Metallic, great color, dark, but not too, much and makes chrome parts pop and blacked out details stealthy. And I owned silver cars for the last 20 years.

I went with the black TLX rims. All that black diverts your attention and transforms the chrome pieces simply into accents. Going tomorrow to add the back hatch chrome garnish piece. Will post photos next week.

Cheapest way is probably plastidip but possibly plastidip would work better long term? Heres a thread of someone doing their TLX - https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-rdx-...sifier-949020/

Please do not plastidip your RDX. It will cheapen the look of your car. It would be much better to have it vinyl wrapped and would probably hold up better in the long run.

Looks awesome, making me think I might want to do the same. Looking forward to more pics of your ride!

Thanks I agree - Im actually debating whether to leave the chrome now or black out the rest because the chrome looks much better with this color than I thought

Back in 2007 when I was having trouble deciding what color to get, I saw a Polished Metal Metallic Accord in the sun. The chrome really popped and that's what made me buy that color.
Leave it chrome for now and see if you still want black later.

I've been thinking of vinyl wrapping the side pieces. It would be cheap and easy to do and would go a long way on my white diamond pearl.

I actually like the "chrome" around the black grill. Acura now has some of the best looking front grills in the business. I didn't much care for the boomerangs on previous generations.

Also known as “the beak.” I don’t think anyone liked it.

I personally like the chrome, but for the huge Acura logo. I’m think of blacking it out. Or maybe converting it to an OPA symbol, because I’m a huge dork.

Just remember, the camera and other sensors are on the logo. I don't know if they're all obvious.

Yep, thanks for the reminder. I remember looking at replacement grills and thinking it was pretty obvious where the sensors are; all on the outside of the ring, IIRC. But probably worth checking again before I do anything, just to make sure. Wouldn't want that LKAS to be unreliable... /s

Rear emblems and front emblem outer ring wrapped in gloss black vinyl. Front emblem is covered with a layer of dark smoke tinted paint protection film. Gives it a black chrome look. All my driver assist and sensors work fine as far as I can tell.
