RDX ELITE - plastidipped plenum sheild with glossifier
OK...since I dipped my previous 2013 RDX, it was time to see how it looks on the brand new 2017 elite.
so here we go:
you need to mask mask mask!

about 3-4 coats of black matte plastidip

give it plenty of time to dry and then add glossifier

unveiling...

masking tape removed from 'A' symbol

Wow that looks amazing! I think it brings out the matte black inserts around the fog lamps as well. When I first seen that you had the badge dipped as well, I was going to say you should remove it. But you obviously already knew lol.
Problem with matte dip is that it stains and takes a beating from the sun. It fades into a greyish black. ... The glossifier adds a layer of protection that keeps it black.

This was always my main issue with matte black dip. It looks amazing at first, then it starts getting those oil stains/spots and end ups nasty.

Honestly, I find the Glossifier doesn't really make anything "Glossy"...
Its just a more "silky" matte black, I guess...
If one applies too much gloss, it becomes a pearly grayish color, so be careful...
I just did did my grill last week, but I can't post pictures... I wish my phone would load yours...

No it doesn't really make it glossy, technically impossible because plastidip doesn't make a smooth surface. I am going to try maybe 2 coats of gloss.
I remember when I tried dipping my wheels on my touareg 4 years ago, literally took me 6 fricken hours.

Here is my set of winters getting prepped up for the season with some fresh dip and gloss. "A" emblem in centre cap will be peeled to reveal the chrome after dip fully dried.
NOTE:
dip wheel with gloss on left, dip wheel no gloss on right (still wet)

Dip wheel no gloss / matte

Dip wheel with gloss

Matte wheel freshly coated with gloss (still wet)
