2 1/2 Day Lemon

Hi fellow Acuraziner's

I picked up my 2019 RDX Tuesday the 13th in the evening. By Friday the 16th in the morning trying to go to work my Infotainment would not turn on, did not recognize my phone for the "Bluetooth Audio" or recognize the USB for the "USB Audio"...kept initializing so I just switched to the radio.

As of Saturday the 17th my "Engine Idle" feature does not work including today. Some people say its the temperature but when I picked up my RDX last Tuesday it was cold (minus 10 degrees Celsius, not sure what Fahrenheit that is) and worked JUST fine...It's Sunday, not even a week...and I have had so many problems, anyone else experience such failure in such a short amount of time?

C->F:

2C-(2C*0.1), adjust for freezing.

So 10C= 20-2=18. Adjusting for freezing:32-18=14F

Pretty damn cold.

■ Auto Idle Stop does not activate when:
• The Auto Idle Stop OFF button is pressed.
• The driver’s seat belt is not fastened.
• The engine coolant temperature is low or high.
• The transmission fluid temperature is low or high.
• The vehicle comes to a stop again before the vehicle speed reaches 3 mph (5
km/h) after the engine starts.
• Stopped on a steep incline.
• The transmission is in a position other than (D.
• The engine is started with the hood open.
u Turn off the engine. Close the hood before you restart the engine to activate Auto Idle Stop.
• The battery charge is low.
• The internal temperature of the battery is 14°F (−10°C). or less.
• The climate control system is in use, and the outside temperature is below −4°F
(−20°C) or over 104°F (40°C).
• The climate control system is in use, and the temperature is set to the Hi or Lo.
• is ON (indicator on).
• The dynamic mode is changed to Snow or Sport+ mode.

Thanks for the info on the Idle Stop function.

I failed to mention today is warmer than the day I picked up my RDX so...that doesn't make sense. And I switched it on and off and on to make sure it wasn't off.

Not sure what the issue is then.

Sounds like a glitch and a job for the dealer. -10 should not cause this. It's going to get colder than that in Alberta for sure and where I am from in the Toronto area.

Thanks! I think I'm going to go straight to the dealer early tomorrow morning. I don't have a service appointment but now my infotainment screen is frozen in the disclaimer mode and won't shut off...hopefully my battery isn't drained in the morning, although its just a "screen" it shouldn't eat all the power in the battery.

I am supremely done with this RDX. I traded in my 2017 RDX that had no problem for a 2019 with more problems than I care to have...really disappointed in this whole situation.

if u do a quick search on here you will see how some people temporarily fixed it.....1 was pulling the fuse..at least it shut it of and saved the battery from draining.....there is another 1 option of pressing certain buttons at the same time which will reset it.....not sure which buttons they are, but if u do asearch Im sure u can find it

1 guy made a video on how to reset it: https://www.facebook.com/jimmy.latteri/videos/10217745109404118/

Hold the top 3 buttons for 5-15 seconds and you can get into diagnostics and fix it

this doesn't work, its permanently "Frozen" at the disclaimer screen....I held any and all buttons down for even a whole minute, nothing happens.

I guess its the "pull out the fuse" method that people mention on here...but should I need to be doing it for a vehicle that is not even a week old since I took possession?! I'm too frustrated.

Your frustration is very understandable, but if pulling the fuse works, then it will save you a trip to the dealer. They will probably try simple things like this first, and go deeper only if those don't work.

Regarding auto idle stop, if the infotainment system is running the battery down, then that could explain why AIS is not kicking in.
