A/C sync issue

Just noticed an odd issue with the A/C front/rear sync. Had the A/C on and rear sync on--the front vents were blowing cold air, but the rear vent was blowing warm air. Temp was set to 72 degrees. I started to lower the temp one degree at a time. At 71 degrees, still the same. At 70 degrees, the rear started to blow cool air, but not as cold as the front vents. Another degree down and finally it seemed like it was blowing the same cold air as the front vents.

Anyone notice this in their vehicle?

Possibly the sun sensor for the front A/C was pushing for more cooling there. The rear unit probably only has an air temp sensor.
