I just looked closer to the picture of the steering wheel.
The pedals are there.

nothing wrong with it looking like the RDX, the Audi Q5 and Q7 look EXACTLY the same.. minus the length.

As with prior generations, this will sell well for Acura. As much as I love my 12 MDX Tech, I look forward to swapping into a 15 version when my lease is up.

That video that TSX69 just posted made the MDX exterior look a lot better to me. Nice. Can't wait to see the real-world mileage this sucker gets. It's probably too much vehicle for me and my daily needs, but I'll go check it out for kicks when they show up at dealerships.

Will the Advance have the magnetic shocks?

Hope they add lumbar support to the front passenger seat, so cheap that they do not have on my 12 or 08 or 05.

Looks like the 3G MDX will continue to be a good vehicle for Acura. Both the MDX and RDX are consistently good cars. Not so sure what Acura is doing on the sedan side. The RLX has some nice tech but won't be a big seller. The ILX is too low market for me, I really hope they don't screw up the TLX. I don't think Acura can get by just producing good SUVs.

They have to have something up their sleeve for the mid-model refresh. They did the same thing with the 3G TL. Give Acura 2-3 years and you'll see some fog lights or an LED strip down there.

Hmm.. there are no pricing details, as I see on Auto news. I expect it at around $20k, what do you think?

My first reaction was disappointment. This coming from a back to back gen 1 and gen 2 MDX owner. I was hoping for something less mainstream in styling, but I guess Acura wants to maximize sales and it worked with the RDX.

Not sure if I will be a 3 timer with the MDX in 14 or 15. It all depends on how it drives and what else is out there at the time. Right now it's not number 1 on my list.

I'm pretty sure the 3G MDX will be just as popular as the 2G MDX. Im expecting Acura to sell just as many if not more. Checking out the sales of the current MDX it's easy to see that it's a popular choice. The total amount sold for 2012 was 50,854.

MDX made the list of standouts at the New York Auto show, standout as a "Disappointment" unfortunately.

This model almost seemed to be phoned in. "New" doesn't translate to "noteworthy" for the Acura MDX. The current model is quite good. And the next one will likely be good as well, but so far, we're not seeing anything that pushes boundaries or improves dramatically over the outgoing model.

Love the console storage and rear storage. I love my RDX but no storage space is the biggest complaint. Now the price. If it is just 10k more than the RDX then I think it is worth it.

Awesome! I've been waiting a few years for the redesign. Hopefully by Christmas, I can get one for the wifey. The spy shots and videos were spot on

Don't worry. The Acurazine community will be on top of it once someone grabs one of these bad boys. I give it 1-2 months after sale date before someone has a DIY.

I remember I did my wife's 2005 TL's bumper fogs in 06 and then in 2007 Acura made it identical to what we were doing on here.

The 2015 Mdx will have fogs. It's like what Apple does. You can't give all the candy away on the new generation.

My dealer said he'll have the 2014 MDX around 5/15... I am sure someone else here mentioned it here before as well

I am surprised at so many comments regarding the fog lights. With the LED headlamps they are not necessary. Also, fog lights do nothing because the USA mandates that you have to have the headlights on as well so the headlights just light up the fog. Fog lights are low for a reason but that reason is negated if the headlights are on.
Secondly, there are people that want to see the tailpipes? There is a design transition going on from the bold rectangular pipes of the MMC to the pipes exiting the bumper and the latest trend is to hide them completely. Acura just missed out the middle step.

I rather not see the back underside of a SUV if it means not seeing the tail pipes also. I always hate to see the dirty rear suspension and exhaust parts of a super clean SUV when you pull up behind them. At least add a plastic skid plate or fake diffuser to block or cover it up.

I feel the interior components don't look as high level as the outgoing model...expecially, the center console.

I thought so too until I was driving in a blizzard and couldn’t see the lane marker lines on the road. I was having a difficult time staying in my lane. I turned on my fogs and could see the lane marker lines perfectly.

The 3G MDX will sell just as well as the 2G MDX.

But you didn't have the focused LED lights of the new MDX!

It looks nice, but I guess I will wait for 2015 model to see if there is any improvement in new design

I don't think you understand the purpose of fog lights or have driven in fog. They are not meant to be used on their own nor illuminate a long distance ahead. Fogs are designed to illuminate down on the road in less than ideal visibility conditions. I've driven multiple cars with hids in the fog/rain and for some reason visibility is far worse than a car with old school halogens. When i drive my 3G TL in the fog/rain, turning the fogs on makes a huge difference. Not sure how these led headlights compare.

For that reason, I don't understand people that put hids in their fogs, but that's a whole other story. They are fogs, not accent lights.

You maybe should not assume that I do not understand the purpose of fog lights or that I haven't driven in the fog.
1 Have you ever driven with just your fog lights on?
2 Have you ever driven with fog lights of a 2700K color temperature?
3 Have you ever driven with low mounted "driving lights"? (otherwise known as "pencil beam lights")

As for you not understanding why HIDs in fog lights is a bad idea then refer to question #2.

Problem in the USA:
You are not allowed to only have your fog lights on therefore the headlights light up the fog due to their spread pattern and their height.
There is no mandate for using the optimum color temperature in fog lights because, as you implied, most people don't use them for fog, they are used as accent lighting.
Fog is typically rarest at 1 to 2 feet above the ground which is why fog lights are mounted low. For the same reason a thin pencil beam light should be used to illuminate a greater distance than fog lights, again, ideally mounted 1 to 2 feet above the ground. Unfortunately, this height is illegal in the USA due to minimum mounting height regulations.

Unfortunately, lighting regulations in the USA are about the worst in the civilized west but the government is not there to make intelligent laws they are just there to make laws. The Canadian government capitulates on changes because they say that it would increase the costs of American goods in Canada so they just accept the lunacy that comes from the USA.

Now that this thing is 1-2 inches lower, do you guys think they'll offer a running board option? Probably pure aesthetics, but I do think running boards will compliment the look quite well.

FWIW, the 2G MDX looks 10x better with it! Can one of you photochop gurus work your magic?

I wonder if Acura will have fixed the fact that you cannot recall memory settings if the car is not in neutral or you cannot change some MID preferences unless the car is in neutral?
Just a couple of anoyances created by the a$$hole lawyers (the same dickheads that put that dumb sticker on the visor).

Is it too late to get a 4 spoke steering wheel?

We drive a 12 Bali Blue MDX now and will definitely check out the 14 once it gets here. I work in parts at the local Acura dealership here in Tampa so I'll post up some pictures once they start coming in.

Got a call today from dealer asking to stop by to put 1K deposit for the 2014 model. Color Forest Mist Metallic/Eucalyptus , Advance AWD. They say will be here first week of June ( hope so). I asked for an accessories list and that is not available yet, should be available mid May.

How exciting!

Did they show you any colour chips or anything like that? I am very curious to see if Forest Mist Metallic is just like that dark green/grey metallic colour in the PR photo that Acura had. Also, I would very much like to find out what "eucalyptus" is like as an interior colour!!!
