2014 MDX is here!
I totally agree with you and correct me if i am wrong but if you buy the parking sensors they are only for the back and not the front, i don't see anywhere on the website that you can buy parking sensors for the front. I also don't like that you still have to pay subscription to XM for traffic updates, i own a 2012 CRV and traffic updates are FREE!!, i am considering this SUV but don't know if i should wait.
Did a test drive.
It seems that all dealerships at SF Bay Area now have 2014 MDX. There was another family who looked at a red-color one. I did a test drive with my reserved car (AWD/Advance/White/Eucalyptus).
Someone already posted the white color. It looks good. 2014 MDX reminded me of Toyota Venza (I like some looks), but I can say 2014 MDX is a well-balanced look between sportiness and softness. Something like (X5+Q7)/2 or (2013 MDX + JX35)/2. I am very positive on the exterior design.
The interior color (Eucalyptus) was pretty nice. Neither bland nor eccentric. A nice green/gray color. Sorry I didn't take pictures. You can see some pictures: http://www.kbb.com/car-news/all-the-...ew/2000009394/
The rear entertainment system wasn't that terrible. I tested with my iPhone 5 + Lighting HDMI cable. Should be enjoyable for kids. But, the system was too plastic and far from Apple-like products.
For the driving, I can't describe/compare exactly as I only drove sedans (2006 Accord and 2007 C300). But, the steering was not heavy and felt the car is light; very responsive. This is the point MDX is totally different from JX35. The engine sound at around 5000 rpm with a firm acceleration was impressive.
I wanted to see how the cabin was quiet. Unfortunately, we did a test drive in a busy street and my baby was crying in the back seat...
The only problem is that the price is at MSRP. I contacted four dealerships, but no gains. I still hate the steep price bump from Tech to Advance ($8000).
Anyway I believe 2014 will be a hit. No doubt about it.
A quick question: the car had 80 mile. Is this normal?

Did a test drive as well...
loved it.
Turn by turn navigation now displayed between revmeter and tachometer. Dealer was not aware of this .
Could not find the subwoofer, but I heard it.
To previous poster:
You mentioned steering: did you try all three modi , button sits right below gear shift stick thingie. .
The ac seats dried my wet panties quite nicely.
Wife likes the ride too, but bot the price if the Advance. And I agree, screen looks plasticy and somewhat cheap. I wish Acura would have made an advance minus entertainment package and $3k cheaper. Now I have to go with only the technology package (wife said so), or a a ML350, which is just slightly pricier after Costco discount $at $55k and similar equipped. They had 8 mdxs in their lot. This one is Forest Mist.

printf- no 80 miles on a new car is not necessarily "normal." it just means other people have test driven the car.
most new cars that have only be driven when they arrived at the lot usually have a few miles on them. when i bought my TL, it only had 13 miles on it.

had the oil/filter changed yesterday at the local acura dealer. They have not received any 2014 MDX's yet. Wanted to check it out. Considering a SUV as my next purchase. Better for dogs. My tsx was a dealer trade so it had 138 miles on it when new. It now has 157K+miles.

just checked my dealer inventory...they have 25 MDXs on their lot (about 60/40, AWD:FWD). mostly, black (CBP), white (WDP), silver (silver moon), gray (graphite), no forest mist, 1 dark cherry, two of the blue. there are a few white with eucalyptus combos.
How well does that 2nd row push button seat-slide work with a car seat anchored in? Because the seat back folds over, I have to imagine this is useless if there is a car seat installed.
Can anyone confirm?
Here is how it works on the JX:

But, if you look at the exhaust pipe it is actually run through the suspension instead of around it. My 11 exhaust is run down the middle of the car, and not directly through the suspension. What happens if you hit a really big bump? Maybe the suspension just doesn't have that much travel, and smashing the exhaust pipe in the suspension isn't a concern.
IDS was in normal mode. Didn't test the different modes. But, steering is lighter than 2006 Accord, and much lighter than 2007 C300.

I was more focused on the overall quality and features.
But I noticed, that there were a few things they have to refine.
For instance: the plastic (or whatever the material is) around the START Button (to start the engine) was partly covering up the button. The devil's in the details.
I also noticed, the trunk is big. Seems bigger than X5 or ML, bbbbbbuuuuuuut: it is less high. I mean from floor to ceiling, but it seems longer with the 3rd row folded.
So there is a trade off. You might fit your ski, but not your new 80" LCD from Costco
I believe that the cars are added by Acura corporate automatically. However, since the cars aren't officially 'on sale' till tomorrow, they are probably withholding it till then. Why? Most likely so that dealers can't sell it if they got cars earlier than others putting them at an advantage simply due to proximity.
Graphite Luster looks awesome! I've always favored black cars, but damn hard to keep clean! My last 2 acura's have been either NBP or CBP. This go around it will be between WDP and Graphite Luster for me.
Really wishing we had some choco leather!!

Taking my 6MT TL in for service tomorrow and gonna check out the MDX before picking up my free loaner for the day.
Most likely will wait until the end of the year because:
A.) We only have 36k on our '08 Tech
B.) Paying retail is against my religion

RTA thanks for the pics again! It wouldn't surprise me if the 3G MDX out sells the 2G MDX.

Not sure about XM (I thought it was a shorter trial) but the basic AcuraLink service (live traffic) is provided for 3 years complimentary.
Wake up everyone, its like Christmas in July for fans of groovy grocery getter get ups.
Don't forget to drop the hammer on a test drive, balk about paying full MSRP, complain about lack of fog lights and lack of spare tires and lack of dubs and lack of buttons. Wheeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

So are planning on buying one.
RTA once again, great pics! From what I've seen online including these pictures it's more of a soft green almost gray. I'll see if I can find the one's from KBB.

At first glance, I'd agree that it looks grey. Take a step back and look at the entire interior, you can see the hint of green come out. Again, I was in the shop so the lights are tricky inside. Once it's out in the sun, I'm sure it will really come through.

I picked these pics, because they show off the color of the exterior and interior. Forest Mist Metallic/Eucalyptus.
