Posted my issues on the carlounge, which is the busiest car message board on the internet.

Looks like this is still unresolved???

Hi all,

I just found this thread after posting a message about this elsewhere. I live in Orlando also, but bought my TSX at Acura of Orange Park in late January. The problem started on the drive back to Orlando. I ended up taking the car to Fountain and they said they are aware of the problem and there is no fix. I have since opened a case with Acura, but that seems like a dead end as well.

I have an appointment to have it looked at Saturday at Courtesy Acura in Sanford, but it sounds like that may be a waste of time as well. Since there hasn't been any activity on this thread in almost 2 months, is there a fix out there?

I can at least take some solace in the fact that I am not alone in my outrage over this issue.

David

I also bought my car at Acura of Orange Park and live in Orlando. There isn't a fix and so I just forgot about the whole issue.

This is just downright dissappointing....

So I got a call 2 weeks ago from the Acura dealer letting me know there was finally a fix. I dropped the car off last Monday and was told they were going to replace both sides of clips even though only the passenger side had popped off. I went back on Tuesday evening to pick it up. When I went out to the car to leave I thought I better just take a look to make sure it looked ok. Low and behold the molding popped right off. It's now been a week, and I haven't heard back from them. The only silver lining is that I've been driving a brand new TL with Tech and it's awesome.

Has anyone else been called about this fix?

David

Interesting thread this. Seems like Honda and indeed every other car manufacturer who sell in the US build their cars to a lower standard. I'm not meaning that in a nasty way, but some of the problems you guys had with the previous gen TSX were never seen here (UK)

Oh, and the orginal guy who nearly bought a GTI VW be glad you didn't. If VW USA are anything like VW UK then steer clear. VW are useless! Terrible customer service and poor build quality. The TSX is in Audi territory.

After having it replaced twice already (maybe 3 times, can't remember) it finally seemed to be fixed... until last week. Noticed the passenger side popping off again. Taking it in later this morning to get it fixed up besides a list of other things I need them to fix. Fun stuff!

I got my TSX about 2 weeks ago.

I'm gonna keep a very close eye on this problem. Wanna see if its the older build models that are having it.

Hope I don't get the same issue it would be a real buzzkill. this is a very nice car and its sad to hear that Acura is losing quality. This is something i'd expect from American cars built in the 90s

this is definitely not a minor issue either. i dont think anything under the "my car is falling apart" category should be considered minor.

Meh....ok, my window garnish on the passenger side is coming loose.

(I think the wife snagged it with the car wash mitt and is scared to admit it.)

Going to the dealer as soon as the monsoon season is over here in FLAUSA.

Hi All,

I just got my TSX last weekend and both sides seem ok. I'm wondering, has anyone with a recent purchase have this issue or is this just the older builds? When I picked my car, I pruposly picked the latest stock number that the dealer had.. This is from Ottawa, Canada.

Well, I had mine in to be fixed and apparently the adhesive that is required is on back order for a few weeks. Hooray. So reassuring, as others have mentioned, to know that the part is just held on with some type of adhesive. That is a serious fail.

There should be some type of light duty clip used in conjunction with the adhesive, isn't there? It's only a piece of garnish, nothing to do with the sealing of the windshield, ya know?

Has anyone had any experience if having a windshield replaced due to a crack or chip? Just wondering how these granishes hold up during a replacement and then reattaching.

When to the dealer today. They said that they need to order the part and schedule an appointment with the windshield guy. Weird, but anyways as long as it's fixed thats fine with me I guess. So I'll wait for the part to come in. ETA Wednesday.

Finally had it fixed and I'm pretty sure it's fixed for good (at least until I have to have the windshield replaced in the future, which is very likely in Arizona). They had some adhesive with a large gun (sounds like some kind of foam stuff) sent from Acura. It defintely seems to be attached much better than it ever had been in the past.

I'm about to hit one year with a damaged car. I think I might call Acura again since it has been since November or December. They told me then they should have a fix within a month.

add me to the list. my driver side is beginning to come loose from the top... looks like its the top two portion, but dosent seem to be too loose to fly off just yet.

Has anyone heard from the Acura dealer with a recall or notice?

i got my car sometime in June 08. It's been 1 and a half years and 35000 miles, and i have not had any of the problems that everybody else seems to have except rear deck squeaking.
i'm hoping that it stays that way "knock on wood".
