Hey guys,

I just bought the new TSX from Sterling McCall in Houston and I love this car. Currently, I have 60 miles on it but have some questions/issues. I heard about the 2009 steering problems.....and after driivng the car I noticed the car steers to the right...esp on the freeway. Its slight, however, its noticeable even my dad who drove the car noticed it. Is this common? I don't understand how a brand new car can have alignment issues already.

Also, I just wanted to clarify about the exhaust noise....when I stand behind the exhaust it sounds like an after market exhaust with a put put sound....its unique id say....is this normal?

Thanks for your help .

The goofy steering reports have usually been for twitchy or a momentary hang, not a pull to the right kinda thing. First check your tire pressure on the side the car's pulling towards. If all's good, then you probably need an alignment. Even if it's new, between the shipping and a car transporter there's plenty of opportunities to bif a wheel or wrench down your car on the car transporter too hard, which could easily result in your alignment being off.

Talk to your dealer, I'd bet $1 they'll comp an alignment.

Oh, yeah, the exhaust has a strange noise to it, kinda like a putt-putt-putt-putt. I had forgotten you wrote the same description until I looked up at your post again. It's kinda goofy for a 4 cylinder to have duals anyway, but I also kinda dig the symmetry.

also might want to pay attention to the grade of the highway if its pulling to the right in the right lane harder then it does in the left lane or to the left in the left lane, might just be the electronic steeering.. its very sensitive to the road. You'll notice it pulls a bit when you brake on a hill and you're in one of the turning lanes.

The exhaust I like I just wish it was throaty like the G35 :-P o 6 cyls mmj ooo rwd .. mmm

There was someone else on the forum that had bad alignment after delivery too and the dealer aligned for them free. You should go back to the dealer for an alignment ASAP otherwise they may say you caused it.

Probably not what you are experiencing but I notice the factory tires wondered all over the road when the pavement had rain groves. This is not uncommon with tires that have tread patterns running straight. This made me nuts for the first 1200 miles then I put on my new wheels and General Extreme UHP tires, problem went away.

Yea it does look nicer with the duals, cant wait to break it in so I can push it a lil bit.

I also think its just sensitive, however my dad drove it and he wants me to get it checked out...got an appointment in the morning tomorrow. I used to have a 04 g35, its nice but its too common now days compared to TSX...but the new g37 has a nice throat exhaust.

Yea, I will definitely get it checked out asap. Something else that is even more annoying than the steering is a creaking sound coming from the front of the vehicle at low speeds when I brake or accelrate slightly. It creaks everytime and I can almost feel it when i press the brakes or accelerate at low speed..I will get this checked out also.

Thanks for the help information guys and nice rims

Well its the same, they test drove it and said that the car turns according to the curving of the road, all they did was adjust the tire's air pressure. It only goes to the right slightly on the freeway, I don't think its a big deal but if it gets annoying again I will test drive it with them next time. Basically, they said everything is normal.

Check for tire pull, it's more common than you would expect. After getting my new wheels and tires I noticed the car very slightly pulling to the right. So, I swapped the front tires left to right and the car then pulled to the left. If your tires are directional you don't want to keep them reversed very long, this is just to test them out. Anyway this confirmed that one of my front tires was wacked. I then put them back in the correct position, car tracked to the right again. Now I rotated the right side tires front to rear, the car still pulled to the right. Then I rotated the left tires front to rear and the car finally ran straight, the tire I had moved to the left rear is defective. I called America's Tires and told them the story and they ordered me a new tire for free. The new tire should get installed tomorrow. BTW the tech at the tire store said they see this on all brands & price ranges.

thanks, i'll keep this in mind next time I go to the dealer.

I recently scratched my front bumper against a curb, its not ever noticeable since its under but you can still see it. Its deep and I can see the black part of the bumper. I think I will either try to sand it and touch it up...the entire process or get it done by a bodyshop.

Also, I noticed that one of my fog lights glass cover has been cracked. Dealer is asking for $500 just for a new piece. Any where to buy this for cheap?
