Water on my rotor?

So Ive been having an issue with my front left wheel area. When the car is in motion im hearing a "tsk" type of sound every time the wheel rotates. I took it to Les Schwab to take a look and they said it could be because of a car wash I had before the noise started and said it might be that they got water on my rotor. Is this possible? if so why hasnt the sound gone away yet? Ive driven all the way from Vancouver to Seattle and when I got back the noise is still somewhat there..

it could be a lot of things.
is the noise speed dependent? meaning, when you go faster, does it "tsk" faster?

is your mother in the car, disapproving of everything you are doing in life, saying "tsk tsk"??"

Yes it does, I can start to notice it more when I pass the side of a building. I think it is starting to die down a bit I wasn't hearing it too much today.

Hahaha sometimes but that was before my car started having that problem.

Water on your rotor? That makes no sense.

something might be rubbing.

One time, in an older car, I had a ticking noise that increased with speed.
it turned out to be a wheel weight hitting something stationary, like a shock or a control arm.

I can assure you that its not water on the rotor.
if water were to be on the rotor, it would cause it to rust.
and as soon as you step on the brake, the pad would wipe the rotor clean free of rust.

every rotor is exposed... water on it will make no difference. check the backing plate of the rotors. Possible that they could be touching the rotors slightly.

Could also be something as trivial as a pebble or something similar lodged within the thread of your tire. You can hear it when it "hits" the pavement as the tire rotates.

^i would still check to see if nothing is hitting.
maybe it was a pebble stuck in the treads of the tire, like one poster pointed out

Or a pebble or some other debris stuck between the rotor and caliper

I took it to a few places in my area and I kinda of got the whole "water on my rotor" theory explained to me. One guy told me that the water could of settled on the rotor on the bottom edge of wear the brake pad doesn't touch, which cause a small part to flake up (rusted part) and that's what was hitting the brake pad every time it rotated. Make sense cause I think he kinda took of the flaked part with his finger and the noise is gone
