Seat warmer question!
Seat warmer question!
Hi, has anyone else ever had an issue with the driver’s side seat heater going out? Specifically, on the part where you sit on, the back still works!
any & all advice would be greatly appreciated! Also, I’m a novice when it comes to this stuff.
Thanks y’all!

That's an expansive part when they fail.

Part called out in the link above can be had cheaper - https://www.bernardiparts.com/Honda-...4-TP5-H21.aspx, but don't know what shipping will add.
Regarding the recall question - if it is not considered a safety issue, it likely won't be considered for a recall. Seat warmer stops working - you butt get cold, inconvenient but not a safety issue. Seat warmer is shorting out and causing fires in driver's seat - that's a different story.

Bernardi is the only place showing such a low price. Would be interesting to see if they will actually honor that price.
Angela, since you are local Carland Acura has an online store https://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/
Call them, they will match OEM prices from other online Acura/Honda parts store. They will ask for the competing website to verify prices. I do recommend calling Bernardi first to verify that price. A local upholstery shop should be able to install the heater at a lower cost over the dealer.
The part would need to have a significantly high fail rate before a recall is issued.

Something else you may want to consider is that one of the connections to the lower portion of the seat heater has simply become disconnected/separated or split. An upholstery shop will be able to take your seat apart and potentially diagnose with a simple fix vs replacing the part. I only mention this because you mention, the upper portion still works. Maybe you buy the part, have an upholstery shop take apart and go from there?? The only downside to this I see it that the seat heater may be considered an electric part and may not be returnable. Maybe if all of the original packaging is still in place and unopened?? Just some thoughts.
