Seat Problem: Creaking Lumbar Support

My driver's side lumbar support makes a creaking sound when any pressure is applied. My car only has 13k miles and I am not overweight (5'11"; 165lbs). Is anyone familiar with a TSB I can mention to the dealer? Access to the TSBs has been restricted. Thanks!

I have exactly the same problem and I weigh 130 lbs soaking wet. It's definitely something that probably needs greasing. My car is at the dealer right at this moment getting an oil change and this same thing looked at. I'll ask if there's a TSB out on this creaking noise.

I've only had this noise and the faint rattle in the moonroof sunshade headliner; otherwise it's been fine.

I have this exact same issue in my '09; there isn't a TSB for the issue.

I've had the same problem and just got it repaired.

First visit, they applied tape to all the metal pieces in hopes of removing the sound...didn't work.

Second visit, they replaced the entire seat frame...didn't work

Third visit, they applied foam between all the hinges of the lumbar support and replaced the entire foam in the driver's seat...third time's a charm!

Mine was fixed too

When they opened up the panel in the back of the seat, they found that one of the springs in the lumbar support was crooked and the foam wrapping had slid off. They re-seated the spring and adjusted the foam cushion and the creaking was fixed. This happened to me only when I had the lumbar support extended.

My driver and passenger seat started creaking this past November (33,000 miles). I, too, have taken the issue in and they first added padding...didn't work, second--they replaced the frames of both seats, and third...we'll see what happens. I'm calling tomorrow because its such a nuisance! There is no TSB for this issue.

--james_and7...has it not creaked or squeaked since the third attempt?

The lumbar has been fixed. The dealer stated that they replaced the springs that allow the lumbar support to flex.

However, just the other day, the frame started to creak whenever I shifted my weight!!! I sprayed some WD40 along the tracking and it didnt go away. The next day i basically emptied the can again on the track and it doesn't creak anymore.

Oh and for anybody who may be assuming that all the seat creaking is from a possible heavy set driver, I only weigh 170 pounds.

Guys... any update on this issue? Sorry to revive an old thread... but I am hearing some squeaking from my driver seat, and am trying to avoid a visit to the dealer, if at all possible. Is there any how-to for how to access the lumbar support from the back?

I can reproduce the sound, if while seated, I push myself back and down into the seat by pushing against the steering wheel. Then I lift up, then the sound happens, then repeat push down, then release, etc. I can't pinpoint EXACTLY where it's coming from, but I think it's more that lumbar support than the railing...

Any thoughts?
