What's up Acurazine? I took my 2013 TSX SE in for a routine transmission fluid drain and fill at 60,000 on the ODO this past weekend. While they had the car up on the stand, the tech noticed that there was a small seepage of ATF coming from around the transmission filter (Acura part number: 25430-R5L-003). They replaced the filter, clip and hoses under powertrain warranty, but made me aware that this same filter replacement had been performed about 1.5 years ago (before I owned the car). I should note that the ATF level was perfect before the change - given the small volume of the seepage, there would be little if any effect on ATF levels. The tech also mentioned that it may have just been a faulty filter and/or hoses that were installed the first time, but that it would be something to monitor.
I searched on here and couldn't find any other threads on this, so wanted to check if any other TSX owners had run into a similar issue? Does anyone know what could cause this? Anything else to look out for?
The ATF filter I am referencing is part 5 in the attached diagram. The hoses (parts 4/28) were also replaced. Thanks in advance for your help!
Looks like an inline filter, shouldn't be that hard to seal it up. Keep an eye on it but I'd chalk it up as a defective part installed previously. If it fails again replace it with a manual transmission
I have the exact same issue with my 2012.... there is oil weeping on either side of the transmission filter. Could it be the hose clamps are not holding?
