Radio code/serial wrong?

So i got my battery changed yesterday,
I followed the instructions (pushed the 1 and 6, then the power button) and there is NO 10 digit serial #.... only a BGB##### (5 numbers)

I tried plugging it into the website to generate my code and it says error, any ideas?

Check for any stickers containing the serial number in the "usual" places: inside the under hood fuse box cover, glove box, underneath the rear shelf (trunk side). It's a white non-descript small sticker (1/2" x 1-1/2" approx)
