Help! 2012 TSX wont start

I just got a ride back from a friends house because my car wouldn't start. All of the lights work and everything is completely normal until I twist the key from the II position to try and start it. There's just one click and then nothing....It's not the battery. Same thing happened when I tried jumping it. I'd appreciate any advice you may have

Two possibilities:

1. Your starter is toast.
2. Your immobilizer is on the fritz.

I suspect the latter and would start with that avenue of inquiry.

Same thing happened to me about 2 weeks ago. My lights would come on radio worked... But my battery didn't have enough power to crank the car up. I replaced my battery and the car worked like a charm.

I'm almost certain its the starter. I've heard that replacing the brushes can sometimes do the trick? Also, do you know if the starter is behind the intake manifold like on the 1st generation tsx?

it is under warranty (including the original battery)it has roadside assistance-have it towed to a dealer and let them figure it out

when getting the annual state inspection when my tsx was just over 3 years old the dealer replaced the battery free under warranty. They told me it tested low even tho I never had any problems with it. No complaints-it was free.

It's kinda a unique situation. Long story short, the car is no longer under warranty so I can't take it to the dealer :/. The first thing I looked at was the battery. Nothing changed when I tried jumping it. I had it tested just to make sure and it was right at 12.5 volts. Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'm changing the starter. Has anyone removed the starter on the second gen TSX without taking off the intake manifold?

Before you swap the starter you should make sure the starter relay is getting power when key is in start. Check the neutral safety/ transmission range sensor too if no power to the relay.

Like previous posters said test the first battery! Buy a new one from walmart, put it in the car, if it works... good, if it does nor return the battery.
