had to take my 2012 tsx to the dealer
only had the car for less then 2 weeks with only 645 miles and its making that noise as if something is hitting like a bad motor mount or something so today i got to the dealer and the tech told that this is not the first time a tsx does that specially the 2010 model he told they would look at it and let me know by monday so i asked if he had any idea what it could be he told it could lower control arm wtf. right now im so pissed i guess all i have to do is wait and see. have any of you had something similar? and what was it? please share thanks

what other syntoms do you have? I have my car for 3 weeks now and it has this steering vibration over 40 mph, i think it has been worsen that even the pedals area has slight vibration, ppl in this forum said could be bad motor/transmission mount or even bent suspension components. I'm going to dealer tomorrow fr the 3rd time, done wheel alignment twice in 2 weeks, road force tire balanced and found nothing wrong, yet vibration still exist. please let me know what you found at the dealer.

^ Check the lug nuts' torque, should be 80 ft.lbs. I have seen instances where a low-pitch rolling sound was due to improperly torqued lug nuts, resulting in the rim not seating perfectly. Your case could also be an improperly torqued spindle nut. Hopefully the dealer will solve it. Please post back once you hear back from the dealer.

aiight guys after the dealer called me and i spoke with the tech guy and he did determined that it is a normal characteristic of the car and it is how it should operate they even had test driving another one with only 7 miles and they were both similar, well funny thing is im not sure what they did but i no longer feel it anymore oh well lets see

so yea got a word back from the dealer today. they said they found the problem something wit the subframe or something said they had to use a shim and glue something i found out more tommorrow when i pick it up

Mine had a clanking noise when it was newer as well. It mostly did it when I turned right over gutters or brick drive ways going at speed. They came to the determination that it was a "Loose" subframe and their fix made it a ton better, but it really never has been as solid as it should be coming from a premium japanese brand. This car does have some major disappointments in some of the QC they should have solved with their R&D.

Got the car back today. Rear end jack point was loose causing the sound to resonate up front. They used a wedge kit to fix the problem. I was surprised it worked. I remember my 99 Si had the same problem being both are unibody frames. i have the notes somewhere on the invoice where they fixed it ... only noise i hear now is the normal pad shifting which is normal for all acura and hondas

F#&k!!!!!!! noise came back... i gave up, sounds like the caliper and pads shifting i dont know any ideas. look like someone from another post has this problem. so problem still there.. happens when car been driven for a while... looks like the noise driven by heat because the morning its fine.

can you describe the noise in more details? is it coming from the front? right or left side? what type of wheels are you using? factory or aftermarket? any mods to the car? is it related to turning? speed? Did you check the wheel lug torque?

Everyday I'm rofling
Sounds like you are describing what was happening to me and a few others. Its like a clunking or knocking mostly when I'm braking under 10 mph. I took it to the dealer a year ago when it happened when it only had like 1000 miles on it. They weren't able to replicate it(probably drove it in the morning when it was still cool outside) and they said they went over everything and didnt find anything loose or abnormal. It went away during the winter, but I'm starting to notice it do it a little bit again now that its in the 90's.
Here are some threads about it, looks like the first thread the wedge was also used to fix it:

thanks for all the response. its a single click or pop sound driver side. they already installed the wedge kit and noise still there. the noise is present after its been driven for a while or the brakes heat up.. hard to reproduce when car is cold. i dont wanna be a dude thats being a dick at the dealer and going up there every week to fix that sound.

Yup its back at the dealership today. drove it for an hr to make sure they heard that noise. its the ball joint or something cus now its doing it just driving slow ... pop pop pop and brake and pop and accel.. i mean its like left side about to fall out...the mechanic guys just rode 10 feet and like yea there clearly something wrong.. so im in another loaner wow.. i must got lucky with my 2010 manual cus this 2012 SE been giving me hell and its only got 2600 miles on it

you can test the ball joints by putting your weight on the car over each wheel to compress the suspension. push it down and let it come back up. or you can try to lift it slightly with a jack.

Now we are getting somewhere.. Pop the hood and have someone crank the car for you. See how much movement there is to the engine and see if you can isolate the source of the knock. Usually a loose or bad motor mount will allow the engine to move enough to make contact with the subframe.

is this problem only with the SE? Because I feel like my car ('12 v4 tech) is making similar sounds as mentioned above. Sometimes there would be a slight thunk when I turn over the engine..and it seems that it has a hard time turning over. Doesn't happen all the time. And I also hear the slight thump when braking and when driving low speeds. Or are all these noises normal and I'm going bat$hit crazy..

Ok everyone thanks for the feedback and input. I finally got my car back today after being at the dealership for 1 whole week.Long story short the acura division client service manager had to get involved and the Zone manager showed up at the dealer too. Guess when you leased or financed over 10 cars in the last 15 years they get the message that im not making this crap up. They replaced driver side strut, lube all joints, replace brakes and turn rotors, now the service manager said there is an outstanding bulletin on ball joint noise they have no fix for yet but is sure that problems doesn't relate to me. I drove it home this afternoon and no noises as of yet. Oh is it normal for a dealership to charge a daily $5 loaner fee. got hit up for $20 bucks

I have been dealing with my Acura dealer for 20 years and never been charged for loaner. Mind you I have had 12 or 13 Acuras in that time frame. I can't keep track

Goodson Acura was the first non-exotic dealer I knew of who offered free loaner cars in the DFW.

I thought all Acura dealers offered free loaners. Mine does and I love the free drinks and snacks they offer. I eat 2-3 snacks and two drinks everytime I go to my dealer for service. I thought it was all because we have Acuras and its supposed to be a higher quality service. My damn Chevrolet dealer charges for everything in the waiting lobby even though you are spending money on services. Dont know if they have free loaners, though. And I hate to say it, but I have had multiple free washes at my dealer and no problems whatsoever. Only thing I see are occasional missed spots when they dry the car. But reading the horror stories here makes me hesitant now. lol

Loaners have nothing to do with the quality of the car, but speaks more to the manufacturer's goals in keeping customers.
My Audi dealer also owned the Lexus dealership. They shared the same driveway and the same used car lot.
When I took my $60k+ S6 in for a longer service I had to fight to get a loaner and often ended up in a Chevy Cobalt. I had to bring my own coffee or buy a soda in the vending machine.
Walk 50 feet to the Lexus dealership. When I took my mom's RX-300 in for an oil change I got handed the keys to a new loaner regardless of if I asked as long as the service would take more than a half hour. Free espresso bar and sodas in paper cups with ice. Warm cookies and fruit. Chips in the afternoon.
For my $60k BMW, I got loaners - lots of them - ranging from the occasional BMW to Nissan Altimas, Impalas and, for two months, a Mini. No free sodas or coffee, but they had an espresso bar where a coffee cost more than Starbucks.
My wife's Honda dealer gives her a Honda product for anything over two hours, free DIY Keurig coffee and stale donuts.
My Acura dealer has a fleet of a zillion Acuras that you get without an appointment. Of the three loaners I've had, I asked for - and got - something with nav (TSX) and a TL when I didn't need nav.
But I've never been charged for a loaner anywhere.
I can see one possible justification. Most insurance companies won't cover rentals for anyone under 25 (23 or 21 in some states) but may impose a surcharge to cover younger drivers. Ethically, I think they are OK to pass on that charge but it should be noted up front.
