Got rear-ended

I got rear-ended last night and the dumb broad decided to leave the scene of the accident. But not before I could get her license plate number...

It seems like I have to only replace the bumper but then again i noticed some gap between trunk and the left back bumper.... What do you guys think?

should buff right out.

did you file a hit and run yet? the sooner the better.

take your car to a shop for a proper inspection. we can't tell until the bumper cover comes off, if anything got bent/broken underneath. I'm 99% sure you'll need to replace more than just the bumper cover (impact bar, etc).

good luck..

If you recently bought the car from a dealer Id say take it there since they will demand as close to OEM parts as possible... if they are a good group of people.

I'd also file the highest/most charges possible. Felony hit and run, fleeing the scene. Claim some neck pain... she wont know she took off. Her fault. Kick your exhaust off the hangers and make her buy you a new exhaust too!
Stupid bitches need to learn a lesson. I had a girl hit and run my car in a blockbuster parking lot. She HAD to return since she was on a lunch. Me being with my GF I felt bad and let the girl contact her own mechanic. Worst mistake of my life.

I will now forever and always contact the cops, get a report, and demand insurance. That's what its for. I dont pay monthly to let some asshole get away with never having insurance.

How exactly does it work if someone hits your car, leaves, but you are able to get their plate #?

I'd probably be so pissed off that I'd just follow them while calling the cops.

That is what I'd do as well. The cops would tell you to stop following them but I'd make sure I read the number correctly and if they know you are following the person that just hit you it is a bit better than just having a plate number.

But I assume her car has damage too. The damage will line up and she's fucked. Good riddance.

Yeah that's true. Unless they get their car repaired the next day.

If she was dumb enough to hit and run she's probably some poor ghetto trash anyways who can't afford to get it fixed.

How does a dash cam help you when you get rear ended? Are you thinking the dash cam would show the movement of the camera when the car got hit??

Yeah it would prove he wasn't moving when he was hit. So he didn't reverse into something. Also it'll show his reaction to the situation and he'll probably cuss out the girl driving away. Hahaha
some dash cams can film the cabin as well... meaning they'll record what it sees out the back window which could the type type of car and color.

yeah some people have a dash cam for the rear too. It's overkill I suppose, but it's a compromise between feasibility and a peace of mind.

I need to get one for my car (just front), but they all look like cheap chinese knock offs of I don't even know what. I think it's just the standard that they just look like crap. Ideally it would have parking mode and have enough juice to run overnight cuz often times you'd get a hit and run when you aren't even there to see it.

Sucks, but if you got her plate then she will be caught soon. Then it's free aero bumper party time!

And thats exactly what kinda person she was, after I was taking pictures of her car she got out trying to fight me lol...

Anyways the insurance found her, and she had her moms friends car and my damaged is being covered by his extended coverage, and my ER trip should be covered by NO-Fault under my insurance....

Now since I know her name, I might have to make a call to the authorities, because what she did was bullshit... she didn't ask how I or my 4 year old son was doing and just left. I guarantee you, if I was seriously injured the bitch would have just left the sign without checking...

Acura dealership might have it. It's also called the Modulo bumper, or the Sport bumper.

I'm sure that we could find blenty of adjectives to describe you. There is no reason to call the driver a "broad" or "bitch".

The correct chain of events is as follows:

I was rearended and the at-fault driver failed to remain on-scene. I got their license plate number and my insurance company tracked them down. Now that I have their information I will be contacting the authorities.

I also hope that you got your son checked out well.

We don't know the rest of the story. The adjectives are not required and just add to prejudices.

Isn't soupi the guy with the ghetto lights on his car that are held on with bailing wire and chewing gum. I guess that fits right in with his ethnicity.

I wonder if the paragraph above will get him riled up - no different than the broad bitch comments.

Since you weren't in the situation its pointless to defend my case.

If it isn't advice your giving, then there is no reason for your irreverent response. But if your goal is to get laughs and giggles then go for it, whatever makes you sleep at night.

When I was rear ended I asked the shop that did the repairs to order the aero bumper since they wouldn't have to paint it. Ended up getting a check for $75 since it cost the shop less to buy the painted aero bumper than to buy + paint a normal bumper.

So i talked to the dealership, and they quoted a sports bumper (painted) and installed at $914...

Can someone post a picture of their TSX with the sports bumper installed... and is the sports bumper the same as a OEM bumper with this lip on it?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/151336975099?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Thanks.

Wow very nice looking CU2....

Once the aero bumper is on, can a sports lip be added to it in the future?

imo don't add that cheap ebay lip onto your precious modulo bumper... it's gonna look stupid

just get the modulo bumper and leave it the way it is.. it's nice the way it is

the lip won't even fit over the modulo bumper.

btw the modulo / sport bumper is factory painted and I thought it was under $700 also. I dunno where your $914 price came from

maybe they mean the SE bumper? that is not factory painted.
