Got rear-ended
do you know of a site or place I can order from at a lower price?
I don't think Acura makes it readily available to the public to purchase the SE rear bumper (A Spec in Canada), nor the SE side skirts. It doesn't show up on any of those Acura part sites that are dealer-run (i.e., acuraoemparts, oemacuraparts, etc.). I've looked all over the place for the SE skirt and found nothing. Only used ones in the market place and eBay, but they're scuffed and repaint will cause a failed paint match for sure.
I'm thinking the only way you can get that particular side skirt or rear bumper from Acura is to actually own an SE, and prove it to the Acura dealership, and only then they will get you a new replacement (i.e., for the case you got in an accident and need replacement SE/A-Spec parts). AFAIK, this is the case in Canada for the A-Spec badge. You cannot buy it unless you already own an A-Spec, and they require quite a bit of proof before selling it to you. Probably why it's marked up so high on eBay and stuff just for a badge.
See if you can get the bumper cover and install it yourself. It's the installation price that's driving the total up to about a grand.
if they charge $10 to install mats the bumper is $200. OR his local dealer is gonna quote him list price NOT discounted price.
Bit off topic but oh well...

Thanks for this information, I didnt know that. What is the difference between the Stock rear and the Aero/Sports bumper that the price goes up?
Also after talking to the dealership, the price is 673 plus tax for the painted sports bumper and 109 for the install which I am thinking to do myself... but since you mentioned that the dealership makes a fuss about selling the sports bumper, i wonder if they will just let me buy it without them installing it.

With the Aero/Sports/Modulo bumper (they're all the same... just different names), you should be able to get it from the dealership just fine.
But if you've noticed, the 2012+ TSX comes with a Special Edition (SE) trim. The rear bumper is not the same as the stock one, but it's also NOT the same as the aero/sports/modulo rear either. Same with side skirts. These are the parts that come unpainted if you can find them. These are the parts that the dealership might give you a hassle about (i.e., you must own a SE TSX to get SE rear bumper and side skirts). It's the case here in Canada (at least at my local dealership).
The sport bumper should be fine.
I called the dealer to order the SE 2012 rear bumper (palladium silver), and the guy said the it mounts differently to the 2010 and the color is a little off from the 2010 palladium silver.
Dude, install it yourself. Takes you like 15-30 minutes. I bought mine from:
BUMPER, RR. SPORTS *NH788P* (BELLANOVA WHITE PEARL) | Genuine Acura | 08P02-TL2-2G0B
I had a free shipping coupon.
I think it's like 4 screws. I watched this video. My roommate helped to hold the bumper.
Save yourself on installation costs.

soupi, IMO the sports bumper looks better than the SE bumper anyway, but to each their own.
Once you figure out which bumper you're gonna get, just install it yourself. I can't see it being THAT much harder of an install for the SE rear, even if he's telling the truth about differences in installation.

I also thought the Aero looked nicer. That is why I got my SE replaced instead of repaired.
As far as I can remember, there is NO difference between the SE and Aero Bumper.
I took my SE off after getting rear ended and put on the the Aero Bumper. I think there were 4 - 6 screws and a pair of brackets.
Easy.

had something similar happen to me when I lived on Long Island last winter. Some asshole pulled out right in front of me on a main road and I slammed right into them. Couldn't avoid it... They had a pick up truck and didn't even stop. I didn't even have a chance, though, to get a plate. Fuckers. I hope they rot in hell. $10K in damage to my brand new Altima.
Finally got my TSX back from the stealership....
Prices were outrages! $844 for the bumper (painted and installed).
They also painted my passenger door which has a deep scratch and a portion of my side fender, priced at........ $1,110. So overall the insurance company paid the total ($1,604)
, and i ended up coming $350 out of pocket.... ehh not to bad.
