Brake Issues
Brake Issues
Hey everyone...a little history.
I bought my 2009 TSX 6MT about a year ago with 9k miles on it (certified pre-owned).
Almost immediately after getting it I started noticing break vibration on the highway while braking (couldn't determine if it was front or rear). Next oil change the TSB for the front brakes was done, the spring installed, and the rotors turned. Felt great after that.
Several thousand miles later it came back, again I couldn't tell if it was the front or the rear that was vibrating. Brought it in today to have the oil changed again and the rear pads replaced for accordsettlement.com.
They are doing the rear brakes and I'll submit for the reimbursement, but they wanted another $198 to turn the front rotors again. I pressed them about warranty coverage due to it being highly suspect that rotors need to be turned 2 times in less than 30k miles (car has ~28k now).
I do not want to pay every 6 months to have these rotors turned. Any suggestions on potential permanent fixes for this? I've thought about aftermarket rotors, any suggestions on something good but less than $200 per pair?
Could something else be causing this?
Thanks

i love the tsx but the brakes on this car are GARBAGE. i thought the 2010's might be fixed but they aren't. i already had my rear pads replaced and my front rotors are warped. and i really don't abuse the brakes. def go with aftermarket rotors.
Aftermarket is the only way to fix it, I think. I went aftermarket on my 2004 when I had about 30k on it, and have not had a problem since. Check out our vendors for some options and also visit tirerack.com.
