Battery Cable Replacement 2010 TSX
Battery Cable Replacement 2010 TSX
Hey Guys,
i have been having electrical issues with my TSX; mainly the car not starting sometimes. i decided to look under the hood before i took it to the dealership and found i have a very loose Positive connection to the battery. i dropped in quick to have them tighten it and they tried and failed. they said i would need to have the cable replaced. well, went in for the appointment today and found out that that part ( 32111-RL5-A00 ) is not covered under my extended warranty through Acura ( Don't ask me why, as i am already annoyed that this simple part is not covered )
Anyways, They told me its going to be $732.61 to replace the cable!
Total Labor: $488.03
Total Parts: $198.16
Total Misc: $ 32.00
Tax: $14.42
Estimate Total: 732.61
Needless to say: i don't want to spend $733 dollars on something i feel should be covered under my warranty ( mind you i have only owned the car about 1 1/2 years and put 12,000 miles on it )
Question one: Is this simple enough i could do in my garage with my brother on a Saturday afternoon for a few hours and with basic tools?
Question two: Has ANYONE done this before? (tried multiple searches with no results) if so, can anyone walk me through it or post a walk-through?
Question three: What are the "Misc Shop Supplies" they are billing me $32 for? is there anything else i may need to get this done right?

misc shop supplies is typically a STANDARD fee based on the amount spent to cover things like shop rags and hand soap. all shops do it.
if you feel it should be covered call acura and see if that gets you anywhere.
now to replace the positive....why the fark is it almost 500 for labor
my service manual doesnt have a 'replace positive cable' section.
it does have a pic of what it calls the 'starter subharness'.
this sint much to go by sorry all I can find in manual/

You have to remove the plastic part of the intake manifold to replace, Just go to Autozone and get a battery cable end cut the wires off and clamp it on it will be dependable and cost 10 bucks and 15 minuted of your time. and 5 hours labor is not Aldata or factory time total rip off its about 2 hours I believe
